Very cool pet door!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never had a pet door installed on any house I've lived in, but with our dog and cat, I thought this would be interesting to give it a try. And I'm glad I did. Sidenote, you need to be a little bit handy to cut through an exterior wall or door in order to install this. Luckily I am, but it's not something I'd recommend trying if you haven't done projects like these before. No shame in getting a professional to do it right. The app so far works great, and it allows you to know if the door is locked or not from anywhere. A nice safety feature for your home and pets. It appears very sturdy, and complements most homes very well. And it's perfect if you have a sun room to at least give your fur ball some outdoor time safely. Highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The door is easy to install and actually very easy to program.
Here are the Pros:
1. It is not loud. We have two cats and none are afraid of it.
2. The design seems to be safe for cats.
3, The manual locking mechanism works very easily
Here are the Cons:
1. The tunnel is deep and small. A big cat could not get through. It needs to be at least an inch larger in every direction.
3. I wish the arrows on the knob were colored red/green/yellow/grey instead of all grey. I have to use a flashlight to set it because the arrows are hard to tell apart.
4. The only setting electronically regulates identified cats to coming in. Exit is manually controlled.

Best Pet Door in its class!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best pet door in its class. The installation process is fairly easy for fellow DIYers out there. Once installed, there is not much that PetSafe didn’t think about. From the tinted flap to the app that accompanies the door. From the app you can set schedules for your pets and get notified each time the door is used. It is great for those late nights out or just for your pet that likes to go in and out like my Husky. My dog loves his door and almost immediately understood how to use it. I highly recommend this to anyone with pets that is looking for a reliable pet door with safety and security in mind.

Great idea with faults here and there

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an over rambunctious French Bulldog that loves playing in the back yard, but like most, we don’t like leaving the door for him to go in and out of. Potty breaks alike, this smart door allows him in and out access as well as lets me control his in and out access to not over do it or if the weather is bad, take him out myself before bringing in dirt and us both getting yelled at by my girlfriend! Ha. Not the biggest fan of the sensor as it acts up from time to time, install will be the biggest hurdle cause if you mess that up, you shoot yourself in the foot, but thankfully I was able to get it done with no problem. I’m not sure if I would recommend this to others because what faults happen to me may not happen to them, but I will say if we get a new place, I probably wouldn’t take this with us just cause I don’t feel like there should be any hassle for a doggy door and I don’t like the added steps I need to take at times to let him in/out. Minimal complaint, but just enough to keep me away at a later date…hope you enjoy yours though!

My dogs love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was hesitant at first if my dogs would even know how to use it since they’re older, but turns out you can teach a dog new tricks. My younger dog absolutely loves it because he can go in and out as he pleases, but I love the lock function to keep the door closed if you want to keep your dogs in or outside. I wish I would’ve gotten one of these sooner.

Keeps other critters out

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live in the woods and own 2 cats. This PetSafe SmartDoor seals well and keeps other critters out as it lets only a chipped pet pass through. Our cats are free to go in and out without us having to worry about raccoons and oppossums getting in the house.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This smart pet door was not too hard to install. The instructions and template for cutting a hole in the door were helpful. The door itself is a lot smaller than I would have expected for a "medium" pet door as even my cat has has problems fitting through it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

There is definitely a fairly good amount of time to the learning curve to convince pets that the door is safe to pass but once anxieties disappear things work as intented for this pet door.
