These crystals REALLY help cut down on odor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Scoop Free Premium Blue Crystals Litter Tray along with the Scoop Free Self Cleaning litter box Second Generation system. These crystals help dry out droppings and urine and really help cut down on the odor. Both my kitties and my family loved using this litter and were very impressed on how well it worked. Goodbye regular litter!

Wonderful crystal litter trays!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy about the crystal litter trays. They come 3 in a pack and last for a good amount of time. I was worried about changing my everyday cat litter in a cat box to the self-cleaning litter box. I thought that my cat will never use this or know what it is since he never used this kind of litter before. I was so shocked that my cat used the self cleaning litter box as soon as I left the room. I really like how the self cleaning litter box operates by cleaning the litter area for the next usage. My cat uses this all the time now. No more scooping out litter box. I plan on using the crystal litter trays for my cat from now on.

Love this litter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my Petsafe ScoopFree self cleaning litter system and so do my two kitties! It is truly a step above using a plain old litter box.
I’ve tried both the blue litter crystals and the lavender scent ones in our system. Both my husband and I notice odor from the litter box is less when using the blue crystal trays compared to using the lavender ones. With 2 active cats who play and eat and drink a lot we change the box about once a week. The crystals are much better absorbing waste than plain old litter plus they make no dust and mess. I will never again go back to using a regular box or regular litter again.

We have two cats, so we use two boxes.
Does 1 tray last a month? No.
Should you own 1 box per cat? Definitely, Yes.
Are the refill trays overpriced? Yes. The Good.. The litter itself, lasts longer than traditional clay litters, and reduces residual smells. The Bad... You still have to deep clean the walls of your litter box (inside and out) when you change trays. The replacement trays are overpriced and under deliver.
The Ugly... The trays are not leak proof. By the end of week 3, they are completely saturated, and fall apart when trying to remove and cover. We always have puddles of cat urine under the trays, and we use the lid to reinforce the tray to help absorb. We have had to get creative, but with little luck. One fix we did was to put an added layer (Usually a plastic trash bag), between the tray and the cover when setting up. So when we take the the lid out from under the tray, we can still put it on top of soiled tray to throw away. However this still has not been enough (and it’s not even 4 weeks yet), so now we buy giant yard waste trash bags. We cut them open, and spread completely under both trays. Is this worth it? Not so sure when I think really hard about it, but it’s what we have to contend with now. And then we have the litter box system, itself.... In a perfect world, this all would work. However, we all know cats lift their tails higher than females, and because the sides are low profile, the urine often goes on the floor from that. They make a cover, which we did, at one time use.... But It would make the overall interior size too small for larger cats, and cause the urine to get on their fur, when they turn around and bury, thus making for a very dirty cleanup of our cats. I think if they were to make a larger cover that extend Over the walls, but has a lower portion tapered to fit the box, that would be the ideal situation. Along with making a truly waterproof tray.

If you have not done so already, we recommend to place the litter box in a well ventilated, dry room. Areas within your home that will typically have high humidity, like a laundry room or bathroom, are not great locations for this box. Our specialized crystal litter is sensitive enough to pull moisture from the air so placing it in a room with high humidity will cause the crystals to become saturated and they will not be able to absorb or dry out the waste properly. This can lead to over saturation of the crystals, and sitting urine leaking through the tray.
In some occasions certain dietary, medical, or environmental factors may cause your cats to use the litter box more often or in different ways. We would love to speak with you directly to discuss your situation and see how we can help. Please give us a call at 1-866-738-4379 at your convenience. We look forward to helping you resolve this!

Works well; lasts half the time suggested

I appreciate the convenience of this product and find that it works well, overall. That being said the idea that one tray can last 20 to 30 days for a single cat is laughable. When I had one cat using the box I got, at the most, 11 to 12 days per tray. Since getting a kitten each of these trays is lasting no more than eight to nine days, and that's with a supplemental letterbox set up. I really like my ScoopFree letterbox and definitely recommend it to people, but I always tell them that the marketing hype is just that—hype.

I really do like this product and glad I purchased it! But beware that the trays do NOT last a month! They last about 2 weeks otherwise the stench gets awful!

Never smells

I don’t change these nearly as often as I should (life’s busy) but I never ever smell anything from my box, it doesn’t track out like other litters, and it’s so so easy to put the lid on and toss the tray to change it.
