Major Upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Major upgrade to your Litterbox routine! I’ve got two kitties who share the same box, but you’d think they were cows based on how often I had to clean the previous (traditional) box. I followed the instructions to keep their original box available while they got used to the new box, but they both immediately started using the ScoopFree box with no issue… in fact, they were so curious that they both tried it within an hour of setting it up and never went back to the old box. I did purchase the cover separately, but you can also buy this box bundled with the lid included. I got the lid mainly because my cats are used to jumping on top to get up to their cat food (I keep their food on a table so the dog won’t eat it)… but, otherwise, I don’t think the lid is really necessary. Tracking of litter out of the box is really minimal with this type of litter. Odor is also controlled a lot better w/this setup. The app and wifi connectivity was easy to set up. It’s not something you really need to log into much, but convenient if you need to change settings and for alerts on when the tray/litter needs to be replaced. I REALLY like that when it’s time to ‘clean’, it’s really just a matter of replacing the entire underside disposable tray with a new one. Of course, this costs more than manually cleaning a traditional style box, but well worth the convenience and time-savings for me… and no more ick factor of sifting through their business. The cats also get to enjoy a box that’s ALWAYS clean!

Crystals replacing traditional litter!!!

I will be honest as I was a complete non believer of this style of litter box prior to receiving it. The concept of crystals trapping the smell completely was honestly just not believable to me & every cat I’ve ever had has been incredibly picky, so I expected a negative reaction from them towards this new box to be no different.
I set the electric box up in between two other regular litter boxes. I have three inside cats (one box for every cat). The new electric box was extremely easy to assemble & came with clear instructions. The way the box works is the weight of an animal stepping in the box triggers the metal grate to scoop the waste into a separate semi-closed area several minutes after the cat exits the box. The laminated cardboard of the box has a catch area that keeps the solid waste out of sight (and supposedly traps the smell).

Of course all three cats were very interested in the new item in “their room”. Two of my cats were interested in the crystal box, they walked around in it, they scratched in it, but they won’t use it. Only one of my cats will actually use the box. NOW….she will go #1 but not #2 in the box. So, to provide the most comprehensive review that I can, I decided one morning while I was cleaning the other two litter boxes that I would take some of the solid waste that wasn’t covered in kitty litter from the main boxes & placed it into the “holding are” where the grate scoops the waste. I wanted to see if you could smell the solid waste or if it made the room smell.
To my absolute SHOCK the crystals have completely trapped the smell of the waste!! I have had this box in use for over a week now. My only complaint is that the crystals are pricier than I would like to replace, however I have a good friend that uses this exact litter box for her 3 inside cats & she said the crystals last a very long time. The crystals don’t clump like traditional litter so the grate just scoops the solid waste into the holding area & it just spreads the crystals out evenly so that the urine evaporates from the crystals. So one tray of crystals lasts longer than you’d think. I will say this, even though only one cat is using the electric box at the moment & she is only urinating in it, this box has absolutely still saved me a lot of money on traditional litter already!!
One last feature to mention is that it is WiFi compatible & works with an app on your smartphone too helping you to know when to order more crystal replacement and issues regarding your cats health.
I am more than pleased with the new electric box from Petasafe and I feel that if I replaced the other two traditional boxes my other two cats would probably used this box as well!! So I would give this crystal litter box 4 stars just because the price point is a little higher than most people are willing to pay.

Game changer

The automatic cleaning feature is incredibly convenient and keeps the litter box fresh and odor-free. The smart app integration allows me to monitor and control it remotely. I love that I no longer have to scoop the litter box it is so convenient.

Simple yet effective design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: aesthetically pleasing box that is plenty deep. Kicking out litter is always a problem with crystal litter, but they made it quite deep so this isn't an issue. It's quiet and has great app functionality. My cat was drawn to it from the moment I took it out of the box, and she didn't have a problem moving from standard cat litter to crystal.
Con: I loathe anything with expensive replacement parts. That said, it does keep this box fresh (which is a constant struggle with the litter robot). So it's a fair trade, as it requires no extensive cleaning.

Easy set up. Fast clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent this for my honest opinion. The set up was super easy just downloaded the app and it Connected to the Wi-Fi. The part that moves is quite and it comes with a pretty long cord to plug in. This litter box is best for someone who prioritize easy clean up and not having to scoop. The app is also nice as it tracks when and how often your cat goes which is good for health tracking.

You have to use specific or similar litter. This has not been an issue since it is the same price as my usual litter and I don't have to buy as much. It's a $$ saver for sure!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This literally box is huge! It’s a good design and the WiFi enabled part is pretty neat. We only have one cat so it’s nice to not have to empty the box very often. We haven’t had it long enough for her to really be used to it but she’s gotten in it and sniffed it so far and doesn’t seem to be scared. The cords a little short so that’s the only thing it has to be close to a plug which is hard in an unfinished basement.

It’s easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this in exchange for my review. I love that this cleans it self, makes it super easy but my cat is in love/hate with this. She gets scared of the machine when it cleans it self and after she used it she made this noises like she was going to throw up, I don’t know if it’s because a smell from the litter or what so I’m not sure if I’ll be using this after I’ll keep it out for her and hopefully she’ll use it.
