Had the Smartspin for a couple of weeks now, and it works great. We also own the most popular brand, and this unit seems just as good to me. I did a deep clean on it today and it only took about 10 minutes or so. The app works well and messages me when the litter bin is full. Hard to find anything wrong with it so far.

Not too bad

My one and only issue is that after about 2 months of use it has now stopped showing me any sort of data in the app. I know my cats are using it and I know it dumping what they’ve done into the litter pan because I have eyes and can see what’s been done but the big issue is that I’m now not reviewing data and I would like to see which cat is using the litter robot and which one is using the regular one. I did end up taking my sphere off and outside to wash it recently to see if it would give me some data and because I was moving houses. Other than not giving me the data I do like the litter robot. I work over nights 12.5 hour shifts so I’m not always able to scoop the litter box and this makes my job a lot easier

Waste of money

Does not work well with clumping liter as it calls for. Does not empty all the way when cleaning. The app interface is useless. Do not waste your money.

Hard to use

When it works it is great, but I feel like I am struggling to get it to work. I wish there was more help on the manual, right now my box is saying one and that the inferred light is blocked, but I do not know where that is. Also to refill the box you are supposed to press the button for three seconds and then it tells you to refill. This does not work and I usually spend about 30 minutes every week trying to get it to work.

I’ve only had this item for a couple of weeks but so far I love it — I detest scooping poop and pee so it’s nice just taking out the full bag and putting in a new one! The litter seems to last longer also. So far so good!

Pretty good automatic litter box. My cat had used the ScoopFree Crystal Self-Cleaning litter box for two years and it had worked very well, but the crystal litter started bothering (texture) my cat's feet. I switched to the SmartSpin for a month now, and they have been very happy. I have been using light-weight clay litter and the machine handles it well. The litter is well conserved by the sieve and clumps roll into the bottom waste bin. I have the cleaning timer set to ten minutes, and this seems to allow everything to set and leave the drum very little to no residual used clay. The depth of the litter box looks shallow but once filled to the "max" line with clay has offered the opportunity for my cat to dig to their liking. The waste bin appears to have very good capacity. My three concerns are: (1) While my cat is young and able, the box just looks high off the ground. Offering a step, especially for senior cats, would be a nice accessory. (2) The sensors inside the unit can be finicky. Depending on how the bag is placed in the waste bin, it will trigger the "full" sensor. The "weight" sensor inside the unit jumped between weights every time my cate is in the box. It will report they are half the weight they really are. (3). The app. The app has a great layout. It is pretty simple and rather practical. But, it does not always update the litter box data on its own. I have to refresh to app to get data to load. When I log in, it will show me the previous day's data before eventually updating to show me the current day. Overall, yes, I am happy and would buy the SmartSpin again.
