Why I moved from Mac to GBP5.

so I did some research about the new laptops and find GalaxyBook 5 Pro.
This laptop has strong AI CPU 285V and 32GB RAM. which is enough for my research. I usually do the coding and post analysis of the simulation results. And do some extra geographical analysis using ArcGIS and QGIS.
for these tasks, this laptop is more than enough.
At the very beginning, I was thinking about the MacBook Pro 14 M4 Pro, but I found that the GalaxyBook 5 Pro is more powerful and has a better price-performance ratio. And what makes this laptop more attractive is this laptop has better screen quality and same weight with the 2" bigger screen.
I don't regret my decision to buy this laptop. I am very happy with it.
But for the people who are evaluating this laptop and macbook pro 14 at the same time, I would like to share my experience with you as an experienced user of both laptops.

GB5P vs MBP14
GB5P has better screen quality for the video and photo. However, if you are using dark background for the coding, GB5P will give you less eye strain.

MBP14 has been known for its long battery life, but the GalaxyBook 5 Pro has also shown impressive battery performance, lasting through a full day of work without needing a charge. And one great point is that the GBP5 supports fast charging, which can be a lifesaver when you're in a hurry. And this laptop provides multiple power profile options

Great functioning capabilities, it's fast but its not durable at all. I had it on the bed opened a little to close to the edge and when I moved toward the dresser to grab something it fell. It fell about a yard before it hit my carpeted floor and now the bottom of the laptop has slightly shifted and now the corner of the speaker is covered and a couple keys dont work including the space bar. I bought it last month. A really fragile product considering the price.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Many Strengths with Several Glaring Weaknesses

There are many things about the new Galaxy Book5 Pro that are to like. The screen is beautiful, responsive and bright. Windows 11 feels very snappy. Wake from sleep happens almost instantly, navigating between apps and tabs is also smooth. The battery is a tremendous improvement over previous generations thanks to Intel's Lunar Lake Core Ultra series CPUs, putting it mostly on par with the Snapdragon and AMD releases.
With all these pros, you'd think I'd buy this again, but there are a few issues that I feel are glaring enough to warrant reconsideration.
The biggest for me is that lack of a camera that is compatible with Windows Hello which allows unlocking of the laptop. The finger print scanner works about 80% of the time which means entering a pin or password is a frequent enough annoyance. Seriously annoying on this brand new release of a laptop.
Second, the edge of the laptop will dig into your arm if your using this on your laptop on your actual lap. That's because the edge is not beveled in any way making it sharp- rounded edge would've been much better- but also the distance from the keyboad to the bottom edge is enormous. Decreasing the 'chin' on the screen would've helped and maybe making the screen the more standard 15.4" would've helped more. Then Samsung could have shortened the trackpad which has no benefit of being so big.
Third and similar to two, the size makes the laptop a little unwieldy and there is literally nothing to grip when carrying this laptop room to room while it's closed. I'm considering adding a rubber strip or grippy stickers to help with this, because it's an accident waiting to happen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For the price, I think, this model could of have pen capabilities, also compared to my old laptop Microsoft surface is not as good, camera on this laptop is crap, do not recommend at all!
