Samsung's Galaxy Book5 Pro Is All You Need!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Samsung's Galaxy Book5 Pro, which comes with their new Galaxy AI, provides you with a system that pretty much does everything (non-gaming) that you might need. I have to admit that I haven't yet had a chance to use the new Galaxy AI features, but am excited to do so. I got the Intel version because I will be using it for training and webinars. I needed to be able to install Microsoft's SQL Server, SSMS, Power BI, etc, so the Intel version was the best choice for me. Please note that SQL Server is NOT compatible with the Snapdragon ARM CPUs. That doesn't make the Snapdragon series any less "good" if you don't need SQL Server! The Book5 comes in the 14" & 16" models - I went with the 16", with 32gb RAM, & a 1tb NVMe drive. The 1tb should provide plenty of space for my current needs, and the drive can be swapped out for a larger one should that ever become necessary.
One thing to note is that Samsung's SSD software, Samsung Magician, does NOT work on this drive. For some reason (I'm still waiting on an escalated response), the drive model is considered an OEM drive and NOT a CONSUMER drive - as I believe it should be! I purchased the unit directly from Samsung - it's not like I'm a company buying in bulk (which is when OEM drives are traditionally used). This is also not information that Samsung is transparent with in the product description. So you cannot overprovision the drive and you'll have to rely on Windows to do the TRIM for you, should that be of concern.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upgraded my galaxy book to the book 5 360. Very pleased with the new features including the galaxy AI to search and touch screen. I love the foldable aspect as well to write with the galaxy stylus. The integration with my phone is convenient as well.

My previous laptop was an Alienware 15. My purpose for a laptop has changed over the years and that one was too big to carry around all the time and was beginning to become outdated. The Book5 Pro has the performance I need for photo/video editing as well as the convenience of a smaller footprint. The Samsung eco system adds to the convenience by allowing me to control my phone and other smart devices from my laptop.

Good laptop so far, it converts nicely into a tablet format, as well as a fully functioning laptop with a good display. The pictures on the Samsung site depict it with an S-Pen, but unfortunately mine was missing from the included components. It also lacks an equivalent Operating System, coming with the Home version of Windows where any high-end compute platform should include the Pro version.
