I live in a northern climate. With climate change we've been getting much milder winters. It's late December now and 42F out. I am always chilly so I bought this as a supplemental heater in the winter. But at that outdoor temp it seems to blow out lukewarm air at best. I can imagine the colder it gets from here the less well it will perform as a heater. I do like the app features. Set up was fairly straightforward, but it is a two person job. It plugs into a standard 110 outlet which is a big bonus. I would, however like there to be some indication that the unit is on. When adjusting settings the display lights up. But when operating or idling there is nothing lit on the unit itself.

This model offers the option of turning the control panel lights on or off as described on page 6 of the Owner's Manual - https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--tt92QKpn--/b4f523b0458a36e929dac0f2876167008ea46735.pdf - Press and hold the Filter pad, on the unit, for 5 seconds. The unit will beep to signal the
successful toggle of the feature on and off.

There is no window AC like it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not sure why GE is not advertising this more. With a heat pump that works down to 5 degrees, this AC is a New Yorker's dream. I don't actually own one at this price but I'm writing a review in hopes that this gets more traction and can eventually go on sale and cross the threshold of saving money vs using space heaters. If GE is willing to give me a discount on a unit before that, I would love to make an in depth review covering using it in Manhattan.

5 Stars – Perfect AC Unit for Comfort and Control!

I recently installed this window AC unit, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The installation was incredibly easy—even as someone who’s not particularly handy, I had it up and running in no time. Once installed, it cooled the room very quickly, which was a pleasant surprise during a heatwave.
One of the standout features for me is the companion app. It gives you full control from your phone—whether you’re adjusting the temperature, setting a schedule, or just turning it on before you get home, it’s seamless. The app also tracks energy usage, which has made me much more aware of how and when I’m using the AC. It’s reassuring to know I’m staying cool without wasting electricity.

Sufficient for our needs

We had an older AC/Heating wall unit in a bonus room over our garage. It died and we were able to slip this unit into the secured casing of the older unit. Got it installed. It is relatively quiet and seems to be cooling as it should. A little soon to be writing a review... but so far, so good.
