Bought another system on Ebay for $115 that lasted 12 hours before the monitor quit syncing...junk. So I researched for awhile to buy another system because my cars were vandalized in my condo's garage, making it a mandatory purchase. I didn't want to spend a lot of money as I only need to surveil a small area, and there are very many systems out there (as you know). I settled on this package because 1. reputable company 2. features I needed 3. Good quality 4. detailed on-line user manual. Set-up is simply plug in the cameras, and plug in the monitor (do this right out of the package to make sure everything works). You can dial-in each camera for brightness and quality of recording, as well as individual motion detection once you have positioned them where you want. I brought the monitor out to where I was, to get each camera exactly right. Power cords are long, but I had to add extension cords. Once up and running, this is a very good surveillance system. The features are: recording sounds at the camera (with microphone in the monitor to talk thru the cameras if you like), an alarm sounds at the monitor if motion is detected, variable camera views of back and forth or both at once, and an effective WiFi range. At night, I push the 'motion' button on the top of the monitor to turn on automatic recording when motion is detected by each camera. I set them both on the least amount of sensitivity, and they are very sensitive (almost too sensitive) then go to bed. In the morning, if there was any recordings done overnight, each camera on the monitor will have an icon indicator showing... you can view on the monitor, or take out the SD Card, slip it into a PC and view what was recorded. Each camera has its own record. For an inexpensive unit, the quality of the recordings are good enough to identify any perps, thus, mission accomplished. For my need, this unit is great, and I would recommend buying it.
I just got this today, set it up very quickly with no problems. The only thing is that one of the cameras just constantly detects motion that isn't there. So it beeps and records constantly. It renders this basically useless for me, since I have to turn off the beeping so it doesn't drive me nuts, and unless I want to delete the recordings every couple hours, the memory will just always be full. Other than that it's ok I guess, some paper work I got with it said I get an extended warranty if I wrote a review..... I guess we'll see about that too.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is my first security camera and I love the ease of hooking it up and use. The cost was a bonus. I love that is comes with a SD card and doesn't have to be hooked up to a TV or DVD. All the little extras are a plus. The picture is great and love the zoom option. I recommend this system to all.
