easy setup,but having problems setting time to record as it records every 10 minutes instructions are for motion only, but could not get it to work.

so much better than lorex system i had

i just bought this item but it already appears to be way better than the lorex i had which only lasted a few months before the monitor broke, this is much better made (not all plastic) and much easier to use....time will tell but i already believe that it it soon much better than what i had before...lorex customer service was horrible as well, hopefully this company will be better

Excellent Value

I purchased this system because it did not need an internet connection to view and store video. I have a slow DSL internet and systems that view/record via the internet just will not work.
It was very easy to assemble and in less than about 15 minutes it was up and working. The picture was clear and even the night IR was impressive.
The only negative is that in even a short power failure it will not re-start automatically. The power button must be depressed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great product

Did lots of research and this Defender PhoenixM2 caught my eye. Bought it online and took literally just seconds to get it working. (The longest time took was to locate power source for the camera.) Features provided are great. Very happy that I bought it. Had some questions later and called up the support and Daniela was so helpful and gave me the information right away.
Good product and good value.
I would recommend this to a friend!

a modern security system that is easy to set up

We just got the system and set it up. So far it seems to work as advertised. There is a slight delay betw when the camera turns on and when it records, so a fast moving person could be missed.
The writing on the monitor is small and the color is close to the background so the buttons are hard to read without a flashlight and reading glasses. Eventually we’ll memorize which button does what.
The power cords to the cameras are probably ten feet long so it gives some flexibility in camera placement. I thought I’d have to get extension cords but we did okay without them.
We haven’t tried putting the SD card in our television or computer yet to see how things look on a larger screen. I expect the images to be clear based on the resolution settings.

Love it!

We purchased this system to be able to see the garage side of our home. I couldn't be happier with this! Not only does it let me see the garage area and door but I can see all the way down my driveway! I love the fact that it can detect movement and record to the included sd card. There is a sleep mode on the monitor which turns the monitor on when motion is detected so the monitor doesn't have to stay on all of the time. Also love the built in microphone/speaker. If someone comes to the door you are able to speak to them and hear them!! My only issue is the lettering above the monitor buttons. It is so faint it is very difficult to read. A bright color lettering would have been very helpful. All in all, this is a great product and I would highly recommend it!
