Clear cameras and easy set up. Great product to see who's approaching. It's a plug and play system and required me to be creative to get the outside cameras mounted high for good views.
Viewing day/night good, motion sensing day good but motion sensing at night is worse then horrible. During the day it senses a are tree branch moving with the wind, but at night you can see it moving with the wind but the camera does not sense it. I have returned mine for an exchange an the same result. My friend bought the same time as me and returned his for an exchange and same result, no motion sensing at night. Spoke with tech support and was told there was a problem with a few. I am giving up on Defender-USA products and cannot recommend. If you are looking for a camera system just to see it is not bad but if you want it for safety and security to let you know something or someone is moving around then you must avoid purchasing the Defender Phoenix. I did ask support if I could trade up and pay the difference for a better unit that would do what it is supposed to do as the defender Phoenix does not, the answer was no. So be smart, do not waste your time, aggravation or money on the Defender Phoenix.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your review Steve, we're so sorry to hear the PhoenixM2 didn't meet your needs.
At Defender, we understand the need for security so you can have the peace of mind you deserve day or night. It was disappointing that the PhoenixM2 did not work in your intended application and I can assure you that the product was designed for day and night monitoring even in motion recording. If you are still experiencing difficulty, please reach out to us again and we will do what we can to make this right.
I set this system up today. It is pretty easy to set up. It does not come with a user manual but you can find it on their website. The picture is clear and the sound quality is good. The monitor has to be plugged in. It would be nice if it had a battery backup, at least to move it around the house. The camera's have a 7 foot cord and a 8 foot power adapter. The website I bought it from said it comes with a 4 GB SD card, but mine came with a 8 GB micro SD card with the micro SD card reader. My signal has gone out for a few seconds here and there. The camera's are about 90 feet from the monitor. I rated this a 4 and not a 5 due to not enough use yet.
Had to repack whole system, then sent me return address and wanted me to pay it with insurance also. I had this system only 2 weeks. Called them and received paid return receipt. System arrived yesterday and I see it was opened and missing mounting hardware for camera mounts.
I bought this about 3 weeks ago and was very pleased how easy it was to set up. It is such a simple system. I set my cameras to continuously record. I have ordered a 128 sd memory card to use. Set the system up straight out of the box with in 20 minutes was up and recording. Will recommend to family and friends!
