Had no trouble on installation or programing.Wish they had include printed instructions in box...not good at following instructions after download... Had to print them,35 pages...Maybe they could condense them to 15 pages

PLUGGED IN CAMERA #1 RIGHT OUT OF BOX AND HAD PICTURE. NOTHING TO IT. (STILL HAVE NOT INSTALLED #2).
GREAT PICTURE AND RANGE TO CAMERA, (HAD A HARD TIME ADJUSTING CAMERA SO AS NOT TO PICK UP TRAFFIC 100 FT. AWAY).
CAMERA BRACKET NEEDS TO BE A LITTLE LONGER SO ANTENA DOES NOT HIT WALL.

OUT OF RANGE PROBLEMS

Easy set-up, nice features, and the picture quality from the camera and monitor are very good. That said, there is still the problem like others have noted about the "Out of Range" message. You never know how long the system will communicate with each other, my first unit worked for 9 months, my second unit lasted only 2 months, I returned the system twice and still in a short time 2 weeks, before the old "Out of Range " message appeared.
I do not know why this problem cannot be fixed, after getting tired of returning the defective units, (at my expense) I thought I would give another system a try.
I purchased a Cobra 4 channel system, it came with a monitor and 2 cameras.One of the features I liked was the onscreen touch buttons, it still had the small toggle switch like the Defender.
The camera picture is not as good as the Defender cameras, and the detecting system on the camera is not as sensitive as the Defender, which is a problem for me because I use the system to detect stray cats that come into my shed. The Cobra system will not do this where the defender will. Sorry for all the info leading to where I'm going.
Since the Cobra works on 4 channel like the Defender system, I use the Defender camera and the Cobra Monitor. I have had this set-up for 4 months, and have had only 2 "Out of Range" me works ssages appear, but they reset themselves and the picture returns. My guess is that the Cobra Monitor simply receives a stronger signal that the Defender Monitor. Oh yes, I have 3 walls that the signal must pass through.
Bottom line: The Cobra cameras did not work for my application, cameras are not sensitive enough, but they should work fine for anyone wanting to detect a person or car entering your property, although the camera is not as clear as the Defender camera.
For me, purchasing the Cobra system is what it took to take care of my "Out of Range" issue, at least so far. I should have tried this before purchasing my second Defender system, which was nothing but trouble, and the problem was never rectified, even after returning the system two times.

property and just purchased 2 more. This system is easy to use and reliable.
