Cool effects!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Setup of this bulb was relatively simple although there are several layers to the app so there is a small learning curve. It's mainly because it's set up to handle a lot of devices so if you only have 1 bulb it would be overkill.
Color adjustment and modes are all really cool and fun. The best use would probably be as an ambient light casting some light on a wall or some focal point. I say that because light output isn't terribly bright so it won't compete well with other lights in a room.
Music mode actually uses some mic in the bulb. Thought it might link to an app but it doesn't so it will need to be on earshot of the music and will respond according to how well it "hears" the music. It mainly cycles through your chosen color scheme and flashes on the bass beats. Still neat, though.
Fun bulb to tinker with!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Impressive effects!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a huge fan of smart lighting and there are plenty of smart bulbs out there which can change colors (I've used many) but I haven't seen anyone else showing multiple colors in the same bulb, so I was excited to try this out! It has 4 color zones, each of which can be controlled independently. You can set them all to different colors and keep it there, or set the whole bulb to a certain temperature of white or sun light, or use effects like "Volcanic" which transitions through color effects on the different zones similar to light strips.
I will say that it's almost impossible to see the 4 zones in different colors, I dropped the brightness down a ton on the bulb to take a picture of the using 2 colors at once, at normal brightness you can tell the there is a difference but they blend and aren't 4 distinct zones. I would expect this because it's in the same bulb and not across a long strip, so it's still pretty cool but don't expect a colored laser show haha!
The reason I dropped 1 star is because the setup was buggy. Easy to install and I've probably set up 20 other smart lights/device and they're all similar but at the very end of setup it crashed and couldn't add the device. After trying multiple times, googling how to hard reset the light (on/off light switch 5 times) and going through the process 2 more times I found that it worked when I set up a group to add the light into (groups were optional but I guess they are needed). If that bug is fixed and the install process is smooth (the rest was) then this is 5 stars!
If you love smart lighting and want the newest thing, this is it! The effects are good and app works really well (and fast) once it's set up.
