Easy Setup, Great Light

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my GE Smart Light and wasn't quite sure what to expect. I've got many different types of smart lights so I am familiar with setup of these types of devices. This one couldn't have been easier. Aside from the annoyance of having to download yet another smart app, GE made it super easy with Cync. I screwed in the bulb, turned on the switch, downloaded the app, created my account, clicked a button to search for a light, it found it instantly, gave it a name and room, then it checked for an update. It updated the bulb in a minute or two and then I was able to use the app. It's got some cool pre-sets like Volcano and Candlelight that preset the tone, but you can also adjust the color to any color you want, or brightness. Definitely a good vibrant color light.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bulb is so cool! It took all of about 5min to install and then setup everything on my phone. The color changing ability goes beyond my expectations! There is no lag time from when I change the color to my phone, for it to actually happen! It happens almost instantaneously! I can change the vibe/energy in any room with one click on my phone. I have one in each major room in my home!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got 1 of these to try out and I ended up replacing all of my home lighting with these. You can control the color and brightness output either through the app or a smart home device like Alexa. Setup is simple, the app will find and connect to the light. You can group them together by room or however you want and control multiple lights all at once.

Good accent and mood light

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my accent spotlights around my family den and hallways to give them color and modern smart lighting using color changing BR30 LED light bulbs. The Cync GE BR30 performed very well. The set up is easy, and able to connect to my Alexa set up. I am not sure (yet), I am not able to voice a command for the preset lightshows from Alexa, only thru the Cync app. On/Off/Change color or brightness works via voice commands. For the preset lightshows - the light is not as bright - so it might be best on lower ceilings - I have one on my foyer that has a two story ceiling. Brightness of the white and yellow are great - lights up my entry.

Impressive effects!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a huge fan of smart lighting and there are plenty of smart bulbs out there which can change colors (I've used many) but I haven't seen anyone else showing multiple colors in the same bulb, so I was excited to try this out! It has 4 color zones, each of which can be controlled independently. You can set them all to different colors and keep it there, or set the whole bulb to a certain temperature of white or sun light, or use effects like "Volcanic" which transitions through color effects on the different zones similar to light strips.
I will say that it's almost impossible to see the 4 zones in different colors, I dropped the brightness down a ton on the bulb to take a picture of the using 2 colors at once, at normal brightness you can tell the there is a difference but they blend and aren't 4 distinct zones. I would expect this because it's in the same bulb and not across a long strip, so it's still pretty cool but don't expect a colored laser show haha!
The reason I dropped 1 star is because the setup was buggy. Easy to install and I've probably set up 20 other smart lights/device and they're all similar but at the very end of setup it crashed and couldn't add the device. After trying multiple times, googling how to hard reset the light (on/off light switch 5 times) and going through the process 2 more times I found that it worked when I set up a group to add the light into (groups were optional but I guess they are needed). If that bug is fixed and the install process is smooth (the rest was) then this is 5 stars!
If you love smart lighting and want the newest thing, this is it! The effects are good and app works really well (and fast) once it's set up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought my kids would love this but honestly, they like the inexpensive little strobe party light better. This has to go into a specific light socket and then you’re stuck with it. I would only recommend this in a room with multiple light options and controls.
