Needs better instructions

The quality cannot be understated however as someone who's never worked with electronics and was under the assumption the instructions would be helpful in assisting the set up I was wrong. The instructions include everything you need to know about the control box but not a lick about proper instalation into the box or connecting your battery to the solar panels and the panels to eachother for the price I paid for a no doubt quality system I would like to see at least 5 more pages of instructions on how to connect everything and what everything should look like when put together and what to look for in improper instalation.

Wiring not correct

The panels and controler are 5 star but the wiring connectors and fuses do not work. Had to buy a 4 way connector and a 30 amp inline fuse to make it work.

I bought a 100 watt panel five years ago. Put it on my house roof to run a 12 volt water pump and emergency lights. Works great

Package had so much, it was easier than ever

Have had it up and working for a few weeks, using the Rover 40, a total of 10 x 100 on my 30 foot 5th wheel trailer. Impressed with the completeness and flexibility of installation. I did add a few one-to-four cable splitters. If trying to think how to improve the design, would have an option for cables to the Rover to connect without having to strip wire and use a screwdriver, perhaps some kind of plug option that does not preclude the present method when used with other cabling. Those tightening screws are awful and not very sturdy, and bare wire is exposed. (I did lose one Rover when some exposed copper wire corroded in the salt air and burned up the plastic case.) And, the last cable pair from the panels to the controller could be combined into an insulated pair, perhaps with a single plug into the controller. When mounting the panels onto wooden rails (fiberglass covered wood), of a spacing different from that allowed by the panel bracket design, it would be nice to have screw holes in the frame. But it was easy enough to drill new holes in the brackets. The controllers are designed to be mounted on a wooden panel, say, but are awkward for me since they are on the carpet under a big bench next to the batteries and do not stand vertically on their side. I have both a Tracer and a Rover on two of my three small solar systems for this trailer. BUT, I would recommend to anyone to buy Renogy products and am quite happy to be up and running. The 400W panels have generated a maximum of 296 W, and after using the microwave, replenish the LI battery pair with a steady ~20 amps DC.

Great Solar Battery backup system

Great Product. Support was awesome to talk to to figure out a few items. I use it for a Solar Battery backup system if I lose power to run my mini fridge, sump pump and freezer. I added 2 - 200AH 12 volt AGM Batteries and a 2000 watt inverter. I think they should sell as a package, but everybody's needs are different I guess. The only thing I would recommend is that people use a watt meter for (over time) calculations. you really need to do the math on what your appliances use and over time what your needs are.

Put the panels on and dropped the lines down through the vent. Added another bank of deep cycle 6V batteries. My goodness, the rv has power for most things all the time now. The A/C still requires the generator. But I installed an evaporative cooler and a couple fans and we can be comfortable without AC. Awesome!
