Defender 4K Sentinel

I have been using this sentinel camera set up for about a month now. The installation of the cameras was easy to do. It did take some time to hide all the wires, which is to be expected. The NVR was very simple to set up and I did it without any problems. The picture quality is amazing on a 4K tv. I had no issues with setting the app up either. The steps are very well layed out.
The quality of the picture during the day is absolutely beautiful. There is an option to record with black and white, or colour, or in smart mode. It’s crazy how in smart mode when motion is detected at night, the scene gets lit up in colour and it is just as good as in the daytime. This was a nice surprise.
For most of the camers I kept the sensitivity level on low. When turned up it will pick up rain and you will get a lot of notifications. Turning down the sensitivity helped with this issue. The cameras that are semi protected under an eve also help reduce false alerts. Just something to think about when doing the camera placement.
I really like the app. It’s easy to find and play your motion alerts. It has a playback feature that you can watch all your alerts for each camera. After playing the first video, it jumps to the next one automatically. We’ve had problems with bears in our neighborhood, so I use the playback feature to view captured motion alerts that happen at night.
Overall I have had a good experience with the defender 4K Sentinel security system. I highly recommend this system if you want or need a good quality system with the best quality of picture. It’s nice that the price doesn’t break the bank too!

The four cameras work good but the only issue is the range of the wifi (probably caused by our modem/router). They are installed at the 4 outside corners of our home and the 2 further points to our router comes in and out when played. We will have to invest in a Wifi Mesh system.

I have never had a security system in my homes, however, I really felt like I needed to invest in one for my own ease of mind. The Guard Pro is a great product. This is a great camera system

We bought this system to replace an older wireless defender system. The cameras are great and so much clearer and the night vision is so easy to see everything. I also like that the color comes on when the lights are activated. Playback is very easy to use. Set up was very easy. I highly recommend this system.

We have been using Defender for many years, including 2 generations of the Defender Phoenix cameras with DVR. We decided we wanted to view and be alerted when away from home, but didn't want to pay monthly subscriptions. So we ordered the Guard Pro 2K WiFi. I kinda knew the Wi-Fi signal would be iffy on the house exterior, and a pre-installation test proved that. (I'm thinking this is the case with many WiFi cameras installed on the exterior of a home).
So I bought a 50 foot Cat6 cable and ran it with the power cable and plugged it into our router.

A few days in, after us old folks figured out how to use the app, it seems to be working well. We get notifications to our phones and can view live or recorded footage while away. Hopefully we won't need to upgrade our cellular data plan.
For now, we still have our Defender Phoenix DVR system running in parallel, and will probably continue to use it as a window to our driveway and as backup security.
I still haven't installed the second camera, as I'm pretty sure I will need to install an ethernet cable to it as well. but I'll figure it out.
The camera mount is not as flexible on this model and there is only one axis adjustment (just 90 degrees) once mounted. So I would suggest installing only one mounting screw (to enable swivel) until aiming is correct. The Phoenix model mount has unlimited ball joint X-Y axis adjustment.
It seems I always need to sign into the app after another authorized user (my wife) has logged in. A bit of an inconvenience but maybe a good security safeguard?
....still learning.
