The system could have came with better quality Ethernet cables like cat 6. Also I would have loved to known that the nvr needs to be within 30ft from internet modem before I set all the cameras and wires up 95ft away from my internet modem. The last thing i don't care for is video playback is rather complicated. There is only pause and fast forward, no rewind to go back in case you want to watch something over again and you cannot zoom in on playback footage. The instruction manual is rather lacking in a lot of details. Very informative on setting it up with you phone, everything else isn't.

Install and set up was easy. Running wires in the attic is a challenge but would be for any brand. Recommend that you test all equipment and then pull wires and mount cameras. Note for possible improvement would be to use a better quality adjustment screws. They strip out very easily. Suggest using a high quality torx head screw. Had a problem with a couple of the cameras going offline, not sure why. I rebooted the NVR and they all reconnected. I had Lorex cameras for many years and I believe these are better quality and set up was much easier.

We had 2, 16 camera systems installed in our business. They replaced our older system. The installation of the cameras was quite simple and the set up took little time.
From a security perspective, we are pleased with the high quality of the video/feed and in reviewing past recordings, we found it easy to go back and find specific dates for review.
Over the years we have had three systems and following our research, we are certainly pleased with the Sentinel Defender camera systems.

This is a great camera system for the money. I actually bought the 4 camera system first and then realized that I needed more cameras to cover our large property. My advice is to buy a system with a box that can handle more cameras than you think you need right now. That way you can add cameras in the future without having to replace the main unit. Picture quality is very good. multi view, notifications, and incident search all work great. The only small issue is that it pauses frequently during playback for a few seconds each time. Other than that, this system rocks.

Nice Camera System

Giving it 4 stars because it is a good system with nice quality cameras but:
1. It came with a faulty Cat5e cable, it has power but no connection is detected.
2. The human body alarm is faulty when camera is set on an angle, I have one installed at my porch area and it keeps thinking the tree or even my front door mat is a human body..
3. The night vision light can be a bit annoying sometimes, I don't think I've found a promising solution to have it turned off completely or not that sensitive.
