Vented outside

Microwave works good. Had to have technician out. Noticed air blowing from top and bottom even being vented outside. He checked damper and everything. Guess will always have some air blowing from bottom and top. (Not a lot)
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new microwave! It is compact but has plenty of power and space. The exhaust fan is great and has several settings. The light that shines down on the stove also has several settings. I recommend this microwave to replace a hood exhaust fan because it does both.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love it all, but maybe a timer?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works perfectly for us....I have lots of positives about its use and very few negatives. Only one I can think of, actually, is that it doesn't have an independent timer for anything that is going on in the kitchen or on the stove below it. (I bought a hand-held timer for that as a result). I need to be alerted to the few minutes of broiling of bread for example ....I can't enumerate the number of crostini's I've scorched! In a summary, I can think of no great negatives about this appliance. By the way...I love the narrow oven....don't think I'd ever roast a turkey in a microwave anyway.

Sleek low profile

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The KitchenAid Smart Low Profile Microwave-hood combination w/ dual-fan ventilation is the perfect upgrade to my dated kitchen.
The microwave itself is attractive and modern. It has smart features that were a breeze to setup with the KitchenAid app. I receive a notification on my phone when my food is done heating, which is a lifesaver when you have little ones distracting you while trying to prepare a meal. The unit is quiet when running and food heats quickly and evenly. I'm happy with the size of the interior of the microwave. I can easily fit large glass mixing bowls.
As a hood this unit works great: I can see steam being sucked into the underside of my microwave. The lights on the underside illuminate my cooktop and being able to choose the color temperature is a nice touch.
The only nitpicks I have with the microwave are the controls. Sometimes they don't feel responsive when typing in a cook time or there is a notable delay when pressing "start". Also, there is an "open" button and a handle to pull the microwave door open. I often bump the fan/light buttons when using the handle as they are right above the cutout.

It’s super sleek and modern looking which fits with our vision of our future kitchen. The microwave functions perfectly, with plenty of power and the fan for the hood is strong yet quiet. Easy to use, easy to clean and works better than our previous microwave for a pleasant upgrade. I highly recommend it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the KitchenAid Smart Low Profile Microwave Hood Combination with Dual Fan Ventilation for a few weeks, and while I haven’t figured out all the fancy features yet, I’m already impressed! The sleek design is a beautiful addition to my kitchen, and the dual fan ventilation works well to clear out cooking odors. The microwave heats food evenly, and it’s surprisingly quiet. I’m giving it 4 stars because I haven’t fully explored all its functions yet, but it’s definitely a high-quality appliance so far.
