Surprisingly good ventilation. Little compromise.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cooks well and the ventilation is actually better than I was expecting. The control panel is well laid out, and the display gives a lot of detail. The add 30 seconds shortcut on the start button is my favorite feature I usually just press it a couple times as needed for most cooks. Install was straightforward as well.

Overall very good but can be improved...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a well made combination microwave/ventilation device. It works well and meets expectations. I bought it primarily for the venting and am glad to have a back-up microwave. To me improvements could be made on the controls. The selections seem to be too close together and I do not like having to cycle through each of the control settings to use and end the venting. It would be better to have an on/off and speed setting for the vent.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm not sure how Kitchen Aid actually released this on the public. The controls are atrocious. The delay between button push and acknowledgement is probably the worst I've ever experienced in my life, and I've tested developmental versions of human/machine interfaces for decades. A truly hateful interface. The lag leads to pushing the buttons again, and then getting a double push. You end up in a loop of frustration and sorrow just trying to get the ventilation or light adjusted. KA did push a software update that helped a little, but I'd say this is still in beta test mode. On the bright side, it is really expensive for what you get /s.
The ventilation works well and the microwave itself does a good job of evenly heating food.
If you do buy this thing think of it as an investment in improving your patience. Better yet, pick a different microwave and use your morning commute to improve your patience.

Sleek & Beautiful

Took about 10 minutes for the professionals to install (I probably could have done it myself), and another 10 mins to download and install software on the device. Looks sleek and beautiful! The color was the darker stainless steel (Black) and it looks really nice next to the regular default looking stainless steel stovetop I have.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Happy with purchase. Control board very sensitive, wish we could control touch sensitivity. Example when closing the door I touch the fan or light control without meaning to. Other than having to adjust to that the microwave is good.
