Second Day - Single Serve Functions QUIT Working

I wanted to love this. Received as a Mother's Day gift. Faulty design of on/off knob. Does not switch between full pot carafe (left side) and single serve functions (right side). Second day, single serve side totally QUIT working. Could rotate the knob to see the functions, but when I pressed the knob, the power would not come on. Wanted to exchange for an exact replacement. Have loved my other Cuisinart coffee makers. Have used them for years. This model needed more thorough testing before bringing to market.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After working my morning with 3 different appliances to make coffee I an now enjoying a multi use coffee machine that uncluttered my kitchen counter. Espresso, a regular cup of joe, or a pot is now easy and satisfying. Each function works smoothly and fast. My mornings are now stress free and fun.

Great idea poor exection

This coffee maker has caused me a lot of problems in the past few months since purchasing it. There are a handful of design elements that make this problematic.
The water reservoir for single serve frequently leaks and caused caused damage to my cabinets and floor. I have tried to identify how this is happening. My only assumption at this point is a poorly designed gasket.
The Nespresso pod side tends to fail at puncturing the pods which results in a lot of pressure build up in the system causing the release vale to nearly lock up. It is no small feat to get it opened again when this happens. I have tested this with a variety of brands and find it punctures them maybe half of the time.
Don't fall victim to machines that have more than one purpose...
