I had this coffee pot before and gave it to my daughter four years ago, when I bought a Keurig. I missed having the availability of making a full pot and using beans as well as grounds, so I purchased another one. My daughter is still using my old one and loves it as well.

Purchased in order to replace an older version that expired after many years of every day service. Makes the best tasting coffee. Nothing beats fresh ground coffee beans that are then quickly brewed. Don’t waste your money buying paper filters, use the included mesh screen basket and enjoy all the flavor of your favorite roasted whole bean coffee.

This is a great grind and brew coffee maker! It makes a good hot cup of freshly ground coffee. One big problem: the lid is not the typical hinge style attached to the caraffe. It is a flimsy piece of plastic that doesn't stay snapped in place. So that nice hot coffee just may spill all over your counter top, or worse yet, your hand!
I bought mine at a big discount, so it doesn't make sense to return it because of the lid. I think that because this comes with a warranty, a proper carrafe should be made available to customers with concerns about this issue. Just this morning i forgot to remove the lid before pouring and poured hot coffee on my hand! Not acceptable from a company with such a good reputation.

Does the job. Needs thorough cleaning after each use. That is a hassle. The blade grinder can't compare to a good burr grinder. I'm generally a bit of a coffee snob. You could definitely do better with a good burr grinder and a regular coffee pot. For anyone who thinks this will save them time, I might disagree. The whole grind and brew thing is more of a gimmick than anything else.
