We have purchased multiple Cuisinart coffeemakers in the past. We like the grind & brew because the coffee tastes so fresh. We are disappointed with the carafe. It drips when you pour the coffee.

Since grinder is INSIDE of water area it’s stays wet- not just damp but dripping. So can’t really use it like I purchased. Carafe leaks 80% of time when pouring coffee
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great value for the money, the ability to do both whole bean or ground coffee is a great feature, being able to program the unit to start the brewing process 10 minutes before the alarm goes off and the coffee is ready when I get up is great. Definitely will recommend this unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received Cuisinart-Automatic Grind & Brew 12-Cup Coffeemaker to review. I love that is has so many options. You can grind your coffee before it is brewed or you can use ground coffee and just turn off the grinder. The coffeemaker has a automatic timer that you can set to have your coffee waiting for you when you wake up in the morning The grinder basket is sort of small, but it was enough for 4-12 cups of coffee depending how strong you like your coffee. You use 1 level scoop per cup. You need to wash the grinder after each use. The blades are sharp. I like that is has a small charcoal filter that is slim. The coffeemaker comes with paper filters as well as the charcoal filter. It also has a permanent gold tone filter basket, however, it states that some coffee grinds may slip through this filter so I used a paper filter in it as well. I did find the paper filters did not fit very well though. It does have a brew pause but suggests against using it, because it could affect the taste of the coffee. It only gives you 20 seconds to remove the carafe and put in your coffee mug to get some coffee before it starts dripping again. The carafe will hold 12 cups of coffee, however, you can make anywhere between 4-12 cups. It comes with a measuring scoop that has a brush on the end. It uses number 4 basket paper filters, which I did not find fit very well. The panel is an LCD display with a clock, number of cups, brew off/on, grind off/on and a clean cycle. It has an auto on which you can activate to set the time you want your coffee to be ready in the morning. I like that it tells you when you need to clean the coffeemaker, but be sure to remove the charcoal filter. It comes with a 3 year warranty. You will need to register your coffeemaker. I really like that the brochure is very detailed, has pictures and goes over how to use and clean he the machine. It also tells you how to grind your coffee and how to store your coffee beans. The brochure goes over everything. I wish it was not so tall because it will not fit under my cabinets but this is a minor thing. It is a very clean looking coffeemaker. The carafe is nice, because the lid on the carafe does not move when you pour your coffee so you will be less likely to spill any coffee. The warming plate will cut off after 2 hours and it is scratch resistant with a nonstick coating. As for cleaning the parts and carafe you can put some in the top of the dishwasher but I think it would be better to hand wash in warm soapy water. You can not submerge the coffeemaker in water. I love the ease of using this coffeemaker and having freshly ground coffee every morning.

I am unhappy with our Automatic Grind & Brew 12-cup Coffeemaker. I turned our claim to the protection company and they didn't help at all. Our crafe has leaked from day one. The grinder plugs up when we grind beans and it plugs up in the shoot that the coffee grounds are suppose to go into the basket. I would really like to exchange this for the 14 cup coffeemaker without the grinder.

I have used other brands, such as Mr. coffee, Keurig, and Capresso. I researched a little bit on comparable coffee machines, and bought this one when it was on sale. The Cuisinart makes a delicious cup of coffee. This machine bruise very quickly and it is very easy to clean, which is where the other machines don’t compare. Delicious, hot and most of all flavorful.

The grind & brew feature is great, but when you pour the brewed coffee the glass carafe drips down the side, there's no way to tighten the band around the glass carafe. This is a very pour ...excuse the pun, design fault.
