regardless the amount of cups you want to brew, the water reservoir is emptied. Another words, if you have 12 cups of water inside the unit and select 6 cups to brew, the unit uses the entire amount of water you poured in

Purchased this coffeemaker to upgrade our current version to include the automatic grinder. The grind function is poor. It does not grind small enough, so the coffee brewed with that function is very weak. If using ground coffee, the maker works as expected (but that defeats the purpose).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Grinder is too loud! Unless everyone in household wakes at the same time, you are better off with separate grinder and less expensive coffee brewer. Otherwise, I like I like Cuisinart products.

This coffee maker has a lot of great features without it being complicated. Something about the coffee pot itself and the lid configuration has made it so we cannot pour water in the unit or coffee into a cup without it spilling. It's not a deal breaker but it is rather annoying. I've not had that happen before with other pots I've had in the past.
