The carafe leaked out under the plastic rim when pouring coffee the first week and got progressively worse. I returned it and got another model that does not include the grind option. This coffee pot is awkward at best and difficult at worse to clean. I did not like the fact that coffee grinds had to be rinsed off the coffee basket and it’s holder after every use. The design looked good in the store but in reality was not well thought out. It is much easier to purchase ground coffee especially when you add on the fuss required because of the weird design of this coffee pot. It was impossible to remove the old grounds and make a second pot without a thorough rinsing of the grounds basket and the contraption that held the basket in place.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The coffee maker is wonderful I love all the features. The coffee is extremely hot which is wonderful. I like to add extra cream so I’m glad the coffee is still hot when I drink it. The only reason I didn’t do 5 stars is that the bean grinder has moisture in it even when you aren’t using it. I have to take it out to dry it. When using the grinder it’s great. It’s a nice consistency.
