The bean grinder is way too loud and grinds the beans much too fine! There needs to be a setting for the amount of time the beans are ground and/or a setting for how fine a person wants the beans.

Simple, fresh ground coffee. Yes, it’s a bit noisy. It’s grinding coffee. Yes, you have to clean out the bean reservoir before reloading beans, it’s not hard. You would clean out a separate bean grinder. If I want fresh ground coffee, I will deal with this. It filters the water for fresher flavor. This coffee maker is exactly what I wanted. Is it perfect? That doesn’t matter to me. It gets the job done. Buy it.

This is the second model I've bought from Cuisinart. I bought this same model a few years ago, and the one change that Cuisinart made that I don't like is that that lid to the grounds holder is no longer detachable making it less easy to clean. Otherwise, this coffee maker is outstanding. Would still buy it again in the future.

This is our 4th Cuisinart Grind & Brew Coffeemaker... Each has endured daily use and all have lasted for several years before some plastic part deformed enough to cause failure. (We are still using the insulated metal carafe that was included with our 2nd unit and it still keeps coffee hot for hours without needing to energize the warming plate.) Although the parts are all familiar, this latest model does seem to have a more substantial outer casing (albeit also somewhat larger) than any of our previous units. The relocation of some of the control buttons is taking some getting used to, but should become more familiar with time. Overall, I would have given 5 stars except for the noise level that the grinding unit produces. (Can you say "airplane takeoff", "leaf blower", or "rocket launch"??) I grind the beans before bedtime, stop the brewing process as soon as grinding is done, and press the "grind off" button to avoid waking the neighbors in the morning. (Heaven forbid that I forget to press the "grind off" button!!!?!) Our previous units ground noisily, but this is multiple decibels above...
Even with the noise issue, I would still buy this unit again. Oh, and did I mention that it also makes good coffee?...

It’s a very good coffee brewer, the coffee I basket has been redesigned and easier to use. There are (2) things that I think would make it better. (1) Basket lid not be attached to the basket. (2). The beeping noise could be a little louder when signaling the coffee being brewed is complete and when the coffee brewer is shutting off. Would recommend this coffee brewer.
