Pros: Nice looking machine on my counter top. Temperature of brewed coffee is nice and hot.
Cons: Complicated design / too many parts to keep clean. The latch that opens & closes the filter compartment doesn't work well. The carafe lid is not the easy flip top style. There is condensation in the grind compartment regardless of if you use it or not increasing the chance for bacteria growth (more cleaning!).

Previous Cuisinart had a bean container that automatically fed grinder. This one requires grinder to be filled manually for each brewing. Preferred previous model.

I was grinding coffee in an individual grinder, adding it to my 8 year old Cusinart 12 cup. The internal hoses deteriorated. Bye, Bye 12 cup. Then came the new Auto Grind 12 cup. First, the grinder sounds like a Jet plane for 25 seconds. That's ok, I grind in the evening so those sleeping in the morning aren't bothered. Be prepared to clean the grinder throughly. I do it every day. It's a lot more trouble that before, but the results are worth it. More quiet, faster brew and a better cup of coffee.

This is a great coffee pot. We have never had one that grinds whole beans but was in the market for a new coffee pot and saw this one. I looked at several and read the reviews of each one and decided on the Cuisinart for several reasons. I really like Cuisinart products because they are durable, made well and perform well. This Coffeemaker is wonderful. We can really tell the difference using the grinder, with the coffee tasting fresher. I read the directions following the step-by-step instructions so it was easy to get used to. I highly recommend this product and would definitely buy again
