There's no option to tell the machine how many cups you are brewing. Whether you're brewing 4 or 6 or 12, the grinder runs the same time. Many times not all the beans are ground when brewing a full pot.

This was a gift, grinder gets wet after every use and has to be dried. the grinder is also to small to fill the pot. The pot lid should be a swing lid, this removeable lid is a pain to reattach. Went back to using my grinder and not the one with the maker.

First, I will say this; the coffee maker does brew a fine cup of coffee. The carafe and hot plate keeps the brew nice and warm for the duration. The timer works well and the display is well lit without being too bright. But here are the reasons that we didn’t rank this coffee maker higher. Condensation gets into the grinder during the brew process. Not sure what that means for the life of the grinder, but we shall see. The grinder, well, it’s loud! Like jet engine loud! Not the most pleasant sound to hear as you are waking up for the day! We have a stand-alone grinder that we use instead most of the time. Not a bad coffee maker, but not worthy of 5 stars.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
