I’ve loved several Cuisinart grind and brew coffee pots. I enjoy the coffee from this one BUT I do not care for the coffee grounds basket (guess that’s what it might be called). The cover that doesn’t detach from the basket makes it hard to empty the old grounds and clean by hand.

The grinding feature is poor; the coffee comes out weak because the grounds are too coarse. The quantity of whole beans you can add is also not enough to make a full pot. It is also messy. The cheap, plastic lid over the grounds already broke when I accidentally dropped it. I like the coffee pot without the grinding feature, but I spent the extra money for that feature for nothing because it has been nothing but a nuisance and disappointment.

It makes fine coffee but I have a couple of major issues with the design of the product. Unlike other coffeemakers that I have had, this one does not let you specify the number of cups you are making. That means you have to put the proper amount of coffee in every day and the grinder whirls (loudly I might add) as if you are making 12 cups. In other words it keeps grinding even though there are no more beans if you are making less than 12 cups. There is a lot of clean up each time, more so than the other Cuisinart I had.

Splendid coffeemaker. Very easy to use, clean, and fill. Strength of brew is controlled by amount of beans added (more or less depending on strength desired). Coffee is very tasteful. Highly Recommended.
