We bought this as a replacement for a similar model that we had for a few years. The old one was still working fine, but a few parts -- the grinder and top -- were getting pitted after regular use and it was less expensive to buy a new model than to replace them. So far it's worked well with no problems.

This our 3rd Cuisinart grind and brew coffee maker. On both of the other 2 makers the catch for the top wore out. The top would pop up during the brew and stop the maker. The one we just purchased has a similar latch and I fear the same thing is going to happen. Also there is something different with the pot itself. I is very difficult to pour the coffee when the pot is near full. The coffee will run down the side of the pot onto the counter or floor. This our 3rd one and we enjoy the coffee that it makes

so far it's a good value. Grinder works and gets it into the filter. I take it apart and rinse parts out after every use. If I don't grind beans, I don't remove those parts. I just add a new filter.
Only negative is the noise from the grinder and it seems to go for quite a while, but boy it works well and we're OK with the noise.

Grinder apparently has to stay in coffee maker and gets moisture each time coffee is made if had known wouldn’t have bought this model makes good coffee but hate having to take the grinder out to let dry each day
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like this coffee maker only has two things I don't like which are : if you put it on your counter you can not open the lid to put water in it. this could have been avoided by putting the hinge on the side of the machine. Secondly the grinder lid is filled with moisture after each brew.
