I had the predecessor to the DGB-400 Grind and Brew. It was a pretty good coffee maker and I had it for about 10 years before it finally started leaking on the counter. So, I bought the DGB-400. There were a few improvements. First, it is much easier to program, and it is easier to set up and use. One thing I love about the new model is that I can pour the water into the tank from the front rather than the side. But the best thing about the new model is that the coffee tastes so much better. My wife and I both noticed how much better the coffee tastes even though were are still using the same beans we used with the old coffee maker. I set it to grind and brew at 5:00 am, and it is very faithful. My coffee is always ready and it is good. The new model is easier to keep clean also. I would definitely recommend this model to a friend, and the price is right. I was going to buy a few extra parts (such as the grinder and grinder lid) so I can rinse them out and put them in the dishwasher, but after researching prices, I decided it would be just as cheap to buy an additional DGB-400 and use some of the parts from it. In the event my new coffee maker has a problem, I have everything I need on hand already.

Extremely disappointed. Carafe leaks while pouring, have to wipe counter after every cup. If using paper filter we get grounds in coffee if using gold filter we get silt. Stopped using went back to our old coffee maker

I love this coffee grinder and coffee maker. I love that when I woke up the smells of fresh coffee. Little noise when coffee grinder is on but not for too long.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We recently purchased the Automatic Grind and Brew 12 Cup Coffee Maker ("Grind and Brew") to replace a 14 cup Cuisinart coffee maker that we absolutely loved. We are very disappointed in this purchase. We are using the same coffee we have always used but the coffee brewed with the Grind and Brew lacks flavor and is weak. We are experimenting with baskets, filters and quantities to get the flavor where we want it but so far have not been successful. The grind function is just about useless because the coffee comes out even weaker and the hopper doesn't have sufficient capacity. Additionally, steam collecting in the grinder makes clean up difficult and not worth using. We miss our regular 14 cup Cuisinart.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We’re sorry to hear the Grind and Brew hasn’t met your expectations and appreciate you sharing your experience. Coffee strength can sometimes be affected by grind size, coffee amount, or basket placement, and ensuring the grind chamber and basket are securely seated can help improve flavor. Please give us a call at 1-800-726-0190 so our team can help troubleshoot and guide you to get the best results from your coffee maker.

This my 3rd Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffeemaker. I love the fact that I can it set to turn on as my alarm clock. When I get to the kitchen the freshly ground coffee aroma is wonderful. Easy to use and makes great coffee. The only downside is that in my experience they don't last for more than 1 1/2 to 2 years.
