Way too loud, should be a cutoff or slide so steam doesn't get into grinder when not using. Great idea just not executed well! Would not recommend!

I have had a coffe machine like this one for years. This is the 3rd one I have purchased over the last 25 or so years. It works great. It grinds the beans and brews fresh coffee beautifully. The coffee tastes so fresh.

I was looking forward to using this coffee maker and to a really good cup of coffee. It really looks good on our kitchen counter. Unfortunately, it does not make a good cup of coffee. It is too messy to use, except if you use a K-cup, while using the included K-cup like ground bean holder. I could never get it to work so that the grounds did not spill over when removing the holder from under the grinder and the later, after I made a single cup of very mediocre, while removing it from the brewing side holder. I found that while using this coffee maker it was messy and troublesome and the final product was never strong enough, no way to make it stronger or weaker, or hot enough, no way to make the water hotter. I loved the way it looked but did not like how it functioned.

The humid air off the water in the carafe rises into the grinder and makes a caked, stuck-on mess of the residual coffee grounds. If it's not removed, disassembled, and thoroughly cleaned everytime, the grinder blade seizes up.

The grinder is very loud and there is not enough room for a 12 cup of beans. But I am keeping it as I usually only make a 2-6 cup carafe of coffee.

The coffee pot is really difficult to clean after each use. You have to clear out the grinder part then clean the basket. Moisture gets into the grinder and makes the coffee stick to the unit. But aside from that it's a good unit.
