Grinder is very loud. Grinder cup does not accommodate enough beans for 12 cup brewing. 1-4 cup option is nice and coffee is hot.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Another great product from Cuisinart, which I've been a fan of for years and had/have many of their products. I love how fast it produces a great cup of coffee with one complaint - the cup holder that catches the grinds is poorly built and within only a few usages two little springs broke off after hand washing.
Fortunately, this didn't make the coffee machine unusable but it if were just a little more solidly built this would be a 5 star brewer!!

This is our 3rd version of this coffee machine in about 25 years (we are creatures of habit and love the grinding of beans/set the timer/come out to brewed coffee in the morning philosophy). However, we do NOT like the basket holder being attached to the basket holding lid. It's very cumbersome to clean and feels like it will easily break or snap off. The previous design, where it was two separate pieces was MUCH better. We wonder if Cuisinart can modify this and send the modified parts to us, as there is a 2 year warranty.

this is the third one of these i have bought. I love the coffee from it. My only complaint is that the pot drips down the side when pouring, especially when filling the coffeemaker.

overall the coffee maker works well, but the grinder needs some changes. it won't grind enough beans for a 12 cup pot, and if you use the top limit it all gets stuck in the top cover and doesn't make it to the filter basket. i think the grinder needs to be deeper and larger.
