[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The coffee is good. The lid does not fit and must be held on when pouring. It is difficult to clean and must be done daily. The coffee is ground to a powder practically and the grinder area is the hardest to get too in order to clean so much residue. It is the noisiest grinder I have ever heard.

However, I'm dismayed by the fact that a lot of grounds collect in the grinder (especially in the chute) and in the grinder lid, forcing me to wash those parts every time I make coffee. :-(

Given A Lack Of Competition, It’s Cuisinart Or Not

Not bad 12 cup coffee maker. We have used a number of the grind & brew models over the years. This is because we can’t find a comparable competitor (no 1 cup option, no other options, just grind and brew). We clean the components every day, and only use Brita filtered water. Filtered water, combined with good quality whole beans makes good coffee). We make only 1 pot of 6 cups (equivalent) per day.
Two complaints: 1) As the coffee maker ages & warranty expires it begins to spew lots of ground coffee throughout the grinder section, around the the carafe area (walls, ceiling, and base), so we wet wipe the insides…every day…unfortunately.
2) The carafe has two issues; a) the cup scale on our latest on wore off so we had to replace it; and b) there is something wrong with the design of the carafe lid where it doesn’t stay tight plus the design, if you aren’t very careful, causes coffee to pour out around the lip, spilling on the counter.

Fortunately, we recognized that parts are cheaply made and things go bad so we box and store old coffee makers in the basement so we have spare parts. That’s no glowing endorsement for the Cuisinart quality.
Unfortunately, the alternative model with the burr grinder will not fit under our cabinet height so we cannot give it a try.
