This is a very good coffee maker. It is reliable, and consistently makes good coffee. This unit replaces a 4-cup one that finally gave up the ghost. Which raises the question - why ‘5’ cups? Don’t know, but it doesn’t really matter. The removable water reservoir is a nice touch, making preparing to brew quicker and more convenient. The filter placement is odd, being positioned so that water drawn from the reservoir during brewing does not actually have to flow through the filter. Once the provided filter’s lifetime is over, it will not be replaced as our water supply is already filtered. Finally, an engineering quibble: the hinge for the cover over the coffee basket is offset from the center of balance for the whole coffee maker. So, opening the cover requires a second hand to hold the unit firmly in place. Bottom line - a fine coffee maker that I would recommend to anyone.

Really like this coffee maker. It fits well in my small space, is easy to use (love how you can take the container off to fill with water) and makes a nice cup of joe! Only wish it would stay on more than 30 min…im a slow sipper!

I am the only one that drinks coffee in our house. I usually have two mugs in the morning. This pot is perfect for me. It brings a good pot of coffee. The permanent filter works well but I do use paper ones now for easy cleanup. I like this better than my Keurig. I do grind my own coffee. This pot looks nice on the counter and doesn’t take up a lot of space.

After owning the Cuisinart 4 cup for probably 8 yrs it began leaking from underneath. My daughter has the newer version of the 4 cup purchased this past year and it, too, brews delicious coffee. The 5 cup made the worst coffee ever. No matter how I adjusted the grinds, the coffee tasted flat and weak. Sadly, I returned it. I miss my 4 cup but it's discontinued.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awesome little coffee maker! Wish the cord was just a bit longer but overall great tasting coffees made and drink up quick as the machine will turn off and not keep coffee warm for long...however when it first comes out it is nice and hot!! So worth the money!

This is a small capacity pot with a maximum of five cups of coffee. It makes very flavorful coffee. My only complaint is that the hot plate under the pot is extremely hot, and after you pour out the first cup, it seems that the remaining coffee boils on the hot plate. It shuts off after a half hour, probably a good thing. If you live alone, this is a good size for you, but for more than one person this coffee maker will probably be too small.
