I have had a Cuisinart 4 cup coffee maker for years and years. This version is definitely an upgrade! Coffee tastes better and I like the water tank in the back that is separate. I will say that only time will tell if the plate starts to flake off like the previous maker.

It's a perfect carafe coffee maker. The coffee really taste better. Only complain is that it always drips from the top when I remove it and pour. Also carafe gets stain and needs a good cleaning. Otherwise I like it a lot and it's a space saver.

Thermal carafe coffeemakers are designed to automatically turn off after brewing because they do not use a heating plate like traditional glass carafe models; instead, the double‑wall insulated stainless steel carafe is designed to keep coffee warm by retaining heat. For best temperature retention, we recommend pre‑warming the carafe with hot water before brewing, ensuring the lid is fully closed between pours, and minimizing how often the lid is opened. 2 pts: The coffee maker takes up minimal space but is still larger than it's predecessor (the beloved 4 cup maker...that they should bring back...because it was a better machine).
3 pts: This makes a good cup of coffee...as it should...because that is it's only job.
-1 pt: The lid of the water reservoir isn't shaped in a way to prevent it from falling into the reservoir...problematic if you already have water in the reservior and have to fish the lid out.
-1 pt: When you pull the carafe out of the maker, regardless of whether it's still in the process of making coffee or after it is done, coffee will drip onto the hot plate. The dripping comes from the center 'button' that touches the top of the carafe lid. This dripping is something the predecessor did not do.

Great cup of coffe

I wanted a compact coffee maker with a steel carafe for my RV . I really like the look of the coffee maker and it brews one of the best cups of coffee i've had at home. I've only had it for 2 weeks so I don't know anything about longevity yet but for someone looking for a compact coffee maker I would highly recommend it

CUTE Coffee Maker, nice stainless steel carafe…….but I agree with another Reviewer the coffee or water remains in pot and you cannot pour it all out. Also I wish it stayed hot for more than 30 minutes.
