I spent hours trying to find a 4 or 5 cup high quality machine with a CONE filter, not basket. Cone-filter machines consistently make better-tasting coffee for reasons too technical to explain here. For some reason, nearly every company has stopped manufacturing them. I took a chance and went to Macy’s to buy the only one I could find from a well-known manufacturer, either online or nearby. Have used for a month now, and LOVE it. Unlike other machines, the coffee is REALLY HOT when it’s brewed. Ingenious design includes high-quality permanent cone filter, and a clear tank in the back that takes the water so you can see exactly how much you poured before you click “start.” My only complaint is that I wish the “keep warm” feature lasted longer than 30-minutes. Yes, this was 50-bucks, but I’m glad I took a chance on it. PS. Whatever you do, DON’T ORDER THE 4 or 5 cup GEVI machine! What a complete nightmare…but that’s a different review, LOL

This is the 3rd Cuisinart 5 cup coffee maker I’ve owned. It is the perfect size for me. The latest model is my favorite. It brews fast and I like the external water compartment with cup settings. This newer version also comes with a reusable coffee filter as well as a few samples of #2 filters. I highly recommend this product.

I can't say I'm thrilled with this coffee maker. It seems cheaply made, and the lid of the water tank is designed so that it often falls into the water tank chamber when I go to fill it.

This 5-cup coffeemaker is vastly improved over my older Cuisinart 5-cup model which died after 18 years of frequent use. The new, clear water reservoir removes for filling and has a built-in water filter. The inclusion of a nylon filter obviates the need for paper filters. The stainless-steel carafe has a new shape that makes it much easier to pour the brewed coffee without spills or drips. I use this coffeemaker when traveling, and it is compact and easy to set up in a hotel room and makes much better and more coffee than those 1-cup machines you often find in hotels that use K-cups or other coffee pods. The heated plate on the base does keep the coffee hot to the last drop. As one of us prefers coffee over tea, I will run the coffeemaker without coffee, then pour the very hot water over tea bags in the stainless-steel carafe from my old coffeemaker. Then, while the tea brews, I make the coffee.

Love that the water reservoir can be detached from the unit - no more spilling while refilling! Also like the addition of the carbon filter, and the increased capacity.

Excellent coffee maker. Doesn’t require the paper filters; a plus. I use filtered water so no need for the pricey charcoal filter; a plus. Very hot, but not too hot. Only issue is the auto shut off. It’s too short. Should be at least 1 hour and up to 2 hours. Make it customizable by the customer???

Convenient and easy to use. This is our new travel coffee maker because we are not convinced hotel coffee makers are clean and the coffee is typically lousy. This is a great machine but would be better with a timer.

I am the only one that drinks coffee in our house. I usually have two mugs in the morning. This pot is perfect for me. It brings a good pot of coffee. The permanent filter works well but I do use paper ones now for easy cleanup. I like this better than my Keurig. I do grind my own coffee. This pot looks nice on the counter and doesn’t take up a lot of space.
