Missing back panel?
on June 18, 2025

from Greenville,SC
While we are generally pleased with the function of the grill, I’m wondering about an improvement in the design. There seems to be a missing back panel. Since we chose not to use a cover between use as we use nearly daily, any rain completely washes in through the back. If we’ve forgotten to remove the drip pan, the inside is an absolute mess. Also our dogs keep trying to get in the back lured by any drippings. Pita to completely clean after use and cooling daily
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lower heat output
on November 10, 2025

Heat output of 3 burners went down from 32,000 BTU's 10 years ago (my last Weber grill) to only 24,000 BTU's now for the 3 burner grill. 25% heat reduction. Takes much longer to heat up, and does not get as hot and sear as well as my 10 year ago Weber did. I will NOT buy a Weber again.

One step forward and two steps back

Very depressing to see that I'll never be able to upgrade my old trusty small Spirit to something that doesn't come with many tradeoffs. Yes, I can get three burners instead of two but then you can't have stainless steel. Oh boy, I can get a full size griddle but you can't have four wheels on the bottom any more. Oh wow, I can get snap-jet ignition but forget about having a full enclosure to conseal and protect your propane tank and anything else you want to store in the cabinet. And to top it off so you really really feel like you're getting less for your money, let's make the latest model weigh 98 lb instead of 120 lb because that is so beneficial to have less weight since you're only getting two wheels instead of four. I guess it takes a new generation of grill owners to not be as disappointed as I am in the product line.

Don't Buy this Grill

I've been using this grill for 2 years and you can't cook anything with any fat content on it. It flares up and burns food. Temperature will surge from 400 sustained to over 600 once the fat flare ups begin.
I've used Weber charcoal grills in the past. But worked never buy their gas/propane junk

We value your feedback, and your satisfaction with your grill is very important to us! We're sorry your food is being burned by flare-ups from grease. If regular flare-ups occur, the first step we recommend is cleaning your grill's Flavorizer Bars, cooking grates, and cookbox.
When grilling food with a high fat content, we recommend using a water pan to catch additional grease and prevent excess flaring.
We would like to know more about your experience and offer our assistance. Please look for an email from our Care team soon. Thank you!
I've never owned any grill other than a Weber, as they are truly the best. Over the past 47 years I started with a kettle, then a propane kettle, then a Genesis, and now a Spirit. The Genesis lasted 24 years and was still fine when I left it for the new owners of my last home. Weber grills are INDESTRUCTABLE! This Spirit has every feature I want or need, at a very affordable price. I especially like the new ignition system. My only complaint relates to the assembly instructions. I understand why it is all pictures rather than text, so it applies in any language, but it does make it a bit more difficult. I ended up putting the drip tray in backwards, which caused a mess the first time I used the grill but quickly straightened it out. Looking forward to getting a good, long life out of this grill. It looks like it is built to last, like all the other Weber grills I've had.

Thank you for your feedback and for choosing a Weber grill! Your grill should easily reach 450F, which is hot enough to cook and sear.
If your grill is not getting to that temperature, there are a few things to check. Let's start with the easy stuff:
1.) Please make sure you consider "High" on your control knobs to be the first spot to your left (the 9:00 position). The further you go to the right the lower the temperature will be and all the way to the right is low, except for designted Sear Boost knob areas.
2.) Please always cook with the lid down except when flipping the food halfway. The second you open the lid, the heat escapes, and you'll need to close it to let the temperature recover.
3.) It sounds like your grill may be in a safety mode known as “bypass." What’s happening is that the regulator thinks there’s a gas leak, so it reduces the pressure.
Perform a soapy water leak test to check for leaks. If there is no leak, follow these instructions to reset the bypass safety mode. This is not only the reset but also how you want to light your grill each time.
Open the lid Make sure all knobs are in the off position Turn your LP tank on all the way Wait 60 seconds Turn the first burner to start/high Hit your igniter Turn on remaining burners one at a time and set each to high Close the lid Let your grill preheat to 450°F
