This is my third Spirit Grill. Very disappointed with the quality of this grill. There is no longer a gauge to tell you how much gas is left in the tank. That was a huge help. The nobs are all plastic. Looks cheap.

My third Weber grill in 25 years. Disappointed in the quality of this model compared to its last version. Metal pieces are thinner and dent easily. No easy ignition. Miss the igniter button and miss the hole for a lighter

Warning: Inconvenient burn danger

Just purchased my new Spirit 310 in time for the Memorial Day holiday. It is a replacement for an equivalent small Weber Spirit propane grill purchased in 2013, which survived 13 years (including a cross country move) till 2015, when it finall,y literally fell apart. It was a great grill with one major flaw which was that the bottom floor/layer below the gas tank door rusted out at least 8 years before the rest of the grill. I have now used my new Spirit 310 twice. The gas tank compartment on this new model is quite a bit smaller (I also have kept
cleaning tools, extra drip trays & other accessories in this now a very small compartment). There is no longer any back to this compartment (the old enclosed model ventilated just fine), and the gas tank takes up almost all the vertical space. The result of the gas tank placement is that there is very little space to turn the gas valve on & off (counter & clock-wise turning). And after grilling, that tiny space for turning the gas valve off is very hot, easily leading to hand burns. This isn't a trivial, cosmetic flaw. it is a very inconvenient safety hazard. Bad enough that I wish I could return it. Unfortunately, you have to use the grill to discover the probem (one customer review had mentioned the lack of space around the gas valve as a difficulty, but I didn't realize it was actually dangerous!) With a $500 price tag, I wasn't expecting to have to wear a thick protective glove and stoop way low to turn the gas on & off. Not a happy customer.

I'm very impressed so far with the quality of this grill. It heats evenly across the entire cooking surface. The disposable grease catching tray is a smart design. The burner controls adjust just like a range top not like other brands that are all or nothing with no real fine tuning. It was easy to assemble. I think the box it came in was better engineered than my actual old gas grill was. With gas grills you get what you pay for and Weber is well worth the higher price point.
