Q800F worked fine for a couple of months
on December 6, 2025
Posted by: Robert
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First the WiFi connection between TV and Soundbar failed. So I connected the two via HDMI. Everything worked fine for 2 weeks, then the Bluetooth connection between the soundbar and subwoofer failed. There is no alternative way to connect the two, so I have no bass. I am away from home for 6 months, so by the time I return the warranty will have expired.

Response from Samsung USBy Samsung Solutions, December 8, 2025
Hi Robert,
Thank you for sharing your review of Samsung’s HW-Q800F Soundbar. We’re sorry your experience didn’t match your expectations. Your feedback is very important to us as we continuously strive for best-in-class product and service.
Samsung is committed to providing the best possible product experience, quality, and value. We back this Samsung Soundbar with a 1-year limited manufacturer's warranty, including authorized repair for manufacturer defect, if purchased brand-new directly from an authorized seller.
Here are some tips to help you troubleshoot your issue.
Updating the firmware on your soundbar gives you all the benefits of the latest improvements. When the Soundbar is connected to the Internet, Auto Update allows software to update automatically even when the Soundbar is turned off. You can also update by using the SmartThings app.
If not connected to the internet, you can download it onto a USB device, and then upload it to your soundbar - no wireless connection required. Connect the USB drive that contains the update firmware to the SERVICE port of the Soundbar.
1.Go to the Samsung Electronics website (www.samsung.com) → click on the “Support” option in the upper left corner. 2.Click on “Manuals & Software” from the pop-up list > TVs & Home Theater > Home Theater > Select your model 2. Download the firmware file (USB type). 3. Unzip the file to create a folder with the file name. 4. Store the created folder in a USB and then connect it to the Soundbar. 5. A sequence of “UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON” will appear on the display 3 times. This will take around 6 minutes. - During update, do not turn it off or remove the USB. - If “UPDATE” does not appear on the display window, remove the power cord from the Soundbar and then reconnect it. - When the latest version is installed, no update is performed. - Depending on the USB type, update may not be supported. 6. After the 3 cycles are complete, the Soundbar will restart and last source used will appear on the display for about 20 seconds and then it will go off (“UPDATE” > “BYE” > “ON”) 3 times “D.IN” > off
You can also try doing a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
If this still does not correct your issue, then do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - Volume buttons on the body of the soundbar at the same time for at least 5 seconds. INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.
While the Soundbar is On, press both the Vol+ and Vol- buttons on the unit simultaneously until the display shows "INIT", then release. If this doesn’t work, then try using the remote control: While the Soundbar is ON, press and hold the SOUND CONTROL ("Gear") button on the Soundbar remote for 10 seconds. You will see "150HZ" on the display. Keep pressing until you see "INIT" on the display, then release.
If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST (Ask for Soundbars), 7 days a week. Live Chat with an agent as well as manuals, software, creating a service ticket, and warranty info can be found at the ‘Support’ link on our Samsung website.

Sounds fantastic

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an upgrade from a 2023 Q600 model and it sounds fantastic. Has a larger footprint, so if your space is limited it might not work. Pairs well with the S90FD OLED TV. Set up was simple.

Best sound bar for spoken audio
on December 20, 2025
Posted by: SamsungGuy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Q series sound bar replaces a Yamaha sound bar attached to a Q90 TV. I have been trying to improve the dialogue on this TV for several years. I also tried an S series, but still had trouble understanding some of the dialogue over the music and other background sound that dominate TV shows and movies. The worst is the phony laugh tracks in most sitcoms. The Q800F helps prioritize dialogue over the laugh track.

Amazing sound and BIG bass
on December 20, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this sound system at the beginning of the year as an upgrade to a smaller and simpler system, which I also replaced with a new TV. The TV is from a different manufacturer, but the speaker system mates perfectly with it. Action movies come to life, and listening to streaming music sources nearly matches a dedicated HiFi system.
I elected to go with the Q800F due to the fact that I have a house built around 1960, and there are no convenient outlets for the rear speakers, nor is there any logical place to put them. The sound stage for this system is still very good, especially given that they are in a wood-paneled den with a slate floor and 10-foot ceilings.
I have a friend who loved the sound, and soon after I got my system up and running, he purchased the 990F in his family room. The surround on that system is absolutely amazing.
I may have some additional electrical outlets installed one day and buy the add-on rear channel speakers, but I am more than happy with what I have.
The voice clarity is very good without sacrificing the lower end of the spectrum. I have turned up the volume to a very high level and have not experienced any distortion. It is Bluetooth capable, but I haven't connected anything using that capability. If you are limited on space, this sound system could easily meet the needs if connected to a turntable, or any number of input types.
