Good basic stove & oven

Display design change is not good.

When I needed an electric range I purchased a Samsung induction unit because my Samsung gas range is excellent. On the 2020 gas range I touch “Bake” and the default temp is 350. Good. If I want a different temp I simply touch, for example, a 3, a 7, and a 5. Easy peasy. On my new 2023 range, however, there are no numbers in the display. I have to touch an up arrow or a down arrow. So I end up having to scroll up or down through many numbers one at a time to get to desired temp. If I hold my finger down the numbers zoom by and I miss my mark by many degrees. I want to punch it. 🥊. The “numbers displayed” system is much better than the new up/down arrow system. Also someone must have left a review 3 years ago that they like the tones the oven makes and Samsung took it to heart because now the oven plays ridiculously long preludes.

Cheap knobs

This range is fine, but the knobs on this unit are made of the absolute cheapest plastic that break so easily plus they are way to easy to turn and can turn on burns if you lightly bump into them. I looked to replace our knobs because they were broken and they wanted $66 PER knob. With 3 out of four of the knobs breaking within the first year I think this is unacceptable.

Ranges and some cooktops come with a Child Lock feature. This will not prevent the knobs from turning on the cooktop. Although all knobs must be made this way to meet international standards, third-party products are available to address this issue. Please click the link below for tips.

I would not recommend this design.

Within the first three weeks of owning this range, a burner was turned on accidentally three times without us realizing. At first I just thought my boyfriend was being careless, but when it happened to me, when just reaching back to get something off a back burner, I realized just how dangerous it is. Having the knobs in the very front of the range is a terrible design idea. My appliance salesman talked to Samsung about this and was told you are aware of the problem, but have not yet decided to do a recall. I’m going to have to eat the money I spent and buy a different style, different brand.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
