Awesome bag but poor lock

I just bought the new Outdoor Sling 7L. Awesome size and light weight. But the lock mechanic on the strap is so so, and can be opened very easily by accident. For putting camera, really need to be careful. Hope PD will get a quick fix on that.

Extroardinarily versatile

I’ve had this a few months now, and I’ve used it as a (1) dedicated camera carry including an XS camera cube and a tripod attached via the adjustable cord hook loops, as a (2) casual handbag with a mirrorless camera/pancake lens packed in, as a (3) handbag with a mirrorless attached to the strap via capture clip, as a (4) carry-all for spontaneous adventures when my phone—Peak Design Case protected, of course—is my only camera, and as a (5) casual handbag. There are seemingly endless ways to use it. The most surprising feature is how well the strap handles a capture clip and camera; the bag doesn’t feel unbalanced or weird in any way.
I am so enthusiastic about this product that I wrote this review months after my purchase. I love all my Peak Design products, but this 7L Sling holds a special place in my heart.

A little pricey

Fits most of my needs and we’re loyal to Peak Design, so I’m happy with it. I will say, in my opinion, it’s is priced a bit high what it is, but it is well-made and has nice organization.

Not Perfect, but a great bag!

I bought this in anticipation of a trip to the USA knowing I'd be spending time in both NYC and Washington DC and wanted something reasonably small [easier for getting into museums etc] and easy to use but big enough for my gear [Nikon Z6 III with L bracket and Z24-200mm lens plus additional Z 40mm].
When it came at first it was a bit lacking in rigidity but I didn't't want to add the PD camera insert which I thought would take up too much space. Instead I used some spare dividers for another bag which provided just enough stiffness without reducing the available space significantly.
Tramped round NYC and DC for a total of about 10 days with the bag with me pretty much all the time [5-6 hours each day] and it was great. Once the strap was set right it just sits in the small of my back comfortably but swings round easily to access the camera. the small additional strap is useful to hold it in place but is easy to detach if you want to swing the bag either for access or riding the subway.
The front pocket was fine for holding my Slide strap [most of the time I just had the Cuff attached] and I used the rear pocket to take a box with spare batteries and memory card [I kept my phone in my trouser cargo pocket where it's easier to reach].
The main [perhaps only] criticism is that the strap buckle is a little too easy to undo and it's possible to unclip it while attaching the secondary support strap - once you're aware of the problem its ok, but it still caught me out a couple of times.

The Outdoor Sling is the perfect complement to my Peak Design backpack and can even be easily attached to it. It's great. I use the bag and the backpack to transport my camera, so I'm prepared for any situation. The various small pockets are well-organized and well-designed. The additional securing strap is very useful, especially when cycling.

If you take the time to watch the videos and learn all the hidden gems, you'll really love this bag. It's so we'll thought out, very light weight and just the perfect addition to an all day carry.

i bought this a few weeks ago for an outdoor camping trip because i wanted something that could stand up to the elements and protect my carry items. out of the box it had plenty of customizable fit options with adjustable straps on both end with strap management built into the bags so i was able to get everything just right. happy to report on the trip that it withstood rain, cold, 20-25 miles of hiking, and a little bit of dancing as well all while packed to the brim. no malfunctions or issues to speak of although i feel the stabilizer strap could be a bit stronger and more intuitive with better store options. all around though, happy with the bag.

Amazingly deep love in spite of two big flaws

The 7 liter arrived just in time for a two week trip to Spain. I previously reviewed the 2 liter. There are flaws but I am ecstatic about this bag. It feels so perfect and is so adaptable. It has become my daily bag because you can cinch it down so it is very slim, or expand it. And then you can add still more by strapping a jacket or water bottle on the bottom. In the front pocket I have a PD one liter cube with all the small things I need plus keys and ear pods. The main pocket has wallet, passport, a note book, sunglass case, magazine or book plus a light rain parka. The sling is very light weight and comfortable and zippers work well. It could fit my mirrorless camera maybe with an extra lens if I delete most of the other stuff. Even stuffed I didn't have to check it in museums. Amazingly, it just becomes part of your body and I found I could, when slung across front, very comfortably wear my PD every day back pack while still having quick access to necessities. As I noted in my 2 liter review, the magnetic latch pocket for the phone is a joke. If you turn it upside down, the phone immediately falls out--beware! And when we got caught ion the rain, the phone started getting wet. But if you don't turn it upside down it is pretty convenient to pull the phone in and out. The other flaw: I've been reading the reviews about the latch accidentally opening and the bag dropping to the ground, not really believing it. And then it happened to me....twice. Luckily, I'm not carrying a camera. I wonder if PD will take responsibility for this - the way Volkswagen did with my diesel - and send us better straps. In spite of these flaws, I am so totally in to this bag!
