A wonderful outdoorsy sling - with two fatal flaws

I love almost everything about the PD Outdoor sling 4L -- with two deal-breaking exceptions. The first is the weak magnet on the back pocket. Why not use the same strong one as on the new City Sling 2L? That back pocket is perfect for easy access to your phone, while still being secure. The second, and many others have noted, is the strap. At least for the 2L and 4L versions, just use a nice, simple piece of 1.5" seatbelt webbing for your strap; put a STRONG clasp *immediately adjacent* to the bag itself (essential for waist pack security); use a simple buckle for easy dangle management with no tucking/flapping; and lose the sewn-in padding--it's not necessary on what's meant to be an ultralight sling. Pros: ultra light weight, unstructured (except for nice padded back--keep this!), three external pockets (a must), and an internal zippered pocket -- hooray, why do so few slings have this? I want to be able to keep my wallet behind two zippers and out of sight. Unlike some reviewers, I prefer a magnetized security pocket to a zippered one for easy frequent access to my phone (and love the padding so I don't feel it against my stomach). If I'm carrying a passport, I want it in the main compartment in an internal opaque zippered pocket, with my wallet. Hoping for a V2 that fixes the magnet and strap!

Perfect size, not too big, not too small. Buiild quality is great. Bought to carry my Fuji with me not using specific clunky camera gear and it is just great.

Perfect size to weight.

While thin (and string) fabric, I used this to carry the 16-35 while shooting with the 24-70, plus the NISI Jerri filter pack for sunsets and landscapes in Acadia NP. Without padding, it is virtually weightless and I’m cognizant of what I’m carrying so careful when sitting down for lens changes or grabbing a new filter, or snack. Water bottle was strapped to the bottom. Comfortable sling padding. Perfect for my quick grab-n-go needs without needing the messenger bag or something larger.

The only issue is the one-way zipper; I wish they hadn't left out the two-way version found on the larger model, as it makes a difference depending on how you carry the bag. One more thing: nobody needs that handle—I cut it off both sizes.
