Just Right!

We wanted a stylish, compact all-in-one printer, and this model met all our needs and expectations. Nice looking, fairly easy to install and use for a non-tech person like myself. Useful for when I work at home, and enjoy wirelessly printing from my laptop anywhere in house. My wife has not yet downloaded app for printing from her I-Phone but she is excited about that capability. Just bought another one on sale to replace a larger Brother model at a vacation home. Value is definitely there. Checked out a lot of competitive models and reviews beforehand and we feel we made the right choice.

Prints black and white, fine. Color is washed out, I have to print photos on another printer. Too bad, because I thought the 3 ribbon color would print better pictures.

This printer is OK - serviceable! I found it to be a bit difficult to connect. I still do not know how I got the wireless aspect connected. It prints wirelessly but I cannot get it to scan wirelessly. The color prints are a bit flat, not as vivid as previous printers I have had. They have a gray quality about them. I bought it for home casual use and it was on sale.

If you have time and money to waste buy this paperweight. I have spent countless hours trying to print labels, envelopes or pictures, nothing works. I am using Avery label products and the photo paper is the Kodak Premium Paper for all ink jets, except the Brother InkJet. It is too heavy for this all purpose inkjet. It keeps spitting the paper product out. Customer support tells me that this Business Smart machine was not designed to print labels, or envelopes. Just got off the phone with them they will not admit this machine does not work properly and it is misnamed as a BUSINESS SMART SERIES. If you don't expect to print labels or envelopes in your small business or home office, then I guess give this a try. I had to select 1 star to be able to post this.

Lasted a couple years at very low volume. I probably did not print over 2000 pages over a couple years and the unit repair would have cost almost as much as new one. Disappointing.

It really is apiece of garbage it goes offline for no reason, and I cant get it back online no matter what I do. The paper constantly jams up and all I do is waste paper. Its one of the worst pieces of garbage that I have ever owned.

The MFC-J4510DW is noisey and sounds clunky. However, it does a great job at all it's advertised functions. It works for me doing personal and small business jobs. I had a problem with the power supply on my first unit and it was fixed by Brother support fast and easy.
I would recommend this to a friend!
