Everything great but...

All the features I've used so far work as advertised but for two things. One, the printer prints sideways. This is a personal preference but when I'm printing coupons online where the top-half is the coupon and the bottom-half is a huge advertisement I don't want, this printer doesn't allow me to cancel the print job halfway so that it only prints the top-half and not the useless bottom-half because the printer has to print everything being a sideways printer. The second issue is the automatic feeder for the scanner. I don't know if it's because my machine is a refurbished product but my scan jobs come out slightly crooked every time I use the automatic feeder for the scanner. It really annoys me. Besides the above two points, this machine has worked well for me printer-wise. The wifi networking works great. About 2% of the time I would experience a non-detection of my computer from the scanner function, but 100% of the time I can send a print job from my computer to the printer over wifi quite fine.

Nice Printer

I have enjoyed this machine so far. It's very user-friendly and is quick. It is sitting beside my other Brother HL2270DW that gets used for most of my B&W printing needs.
I haven't gotten a chance to scan with it yet but the copier and printer parts I am very pleased with their output.

Scan problem, otherwise very good

I am unable to scan directly from the printer. I must use a complex computer based approach in order to scan a document. Maybe I didn't install it properly.

It stops working with my dell computer . I hit print and nothing happens I had to reinstall 2 times do far cause for some reason it just stop communication with my computer and won't print. It also does it with my iPhone 4s . I have deleted and reinstalled twice In my phone cause it stops printing

I love my Brother MFC-J4510DW. This is my second Brother all-in-one and Im happier than ever. Prints and copies wonderfully and the scan function is great! I have nothing but praise.

Not so great.

Does not do the work I was told it could do. The quality of print is not so bright. Its very loud. Jams to easy when using the rear feed. Can only put one sheet at a time in the rear feed. It hesitates to much, and when paper is feed thru rear feed its pulled in, then pushes out several times before copy is started. This is where it jams up.
regret ever getting this product. It seems I have to fight with this copier every time I use it. Should have just had my Cannon repaired with the money I used to buy this bad machine. Nothing about this machine works to any good quality. Worst machine I've ever been around.

Fantastic print quility

I really don't understand all the negative comments about this printer. I use mine for 8 1/2 x 11 and 11 x 17 printing. I do CAD work and the line weight quality doesn't get any better. Lines at 0.05mm print sharp and clear. I've used HP for years and this printer far exceeds their printers.
I had no issues with the set up. I just read the instructions and went step by sent. No problems whatsoever! After months of use it still works flawlessly. I'm impressed!
