I have purchased 2 of these units after having excellent performance from previous Brother MFC units (MFC-240C & MFC-290C). These units are impressive. They are very economical on ink consumption and have excellent print quality. One is wirelessly connected to our home network and the other is hardwire connected (USB) to a workstation PC. The software package works well and the printing speed is excellent. The fact that they will bypass feed 11 x 17 paper is also a major plus. One small issue that has manifested itself on occasion is the paper handling. You must use good quality paper that is pristine i.e. no edge or corner bending of any sort. Also when using the sheet feeder for copying or scanning, you must adjust the guide rails very snugly to avoid canted scans or copies. Other than those minor issues, I'm very pleased with these units and would highly recommend them for anyone looking for an Inkjet based all in one.

Printer produces great copies - is user friendly.
Have not had time to familiarize with all the "goodies" yet that I want to use. So far, flawless operations - expect that too in the future.

I think the printer is very very slow printing from the computer and copying. When it does print it prints 2 and 3 extra pages therefore using a lot of paper,

This MFC-J4510DW is a replacement for a J4410DW that failed while under warranty. The only discernible difference btwn the 2 models is the improved touchscreen on the 4510. Both models have a clunky/noisy paper feed, and both frustratingly have the same formatting/orientation/size issues when feeding envelope stock. Scanning/Copying documents is easy. Ink use is moderate (unlike the Canon Pixma it replaces). Print quality, certainly acceptable. So far, after 3 months, the J4510 continues to function well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Solid Choice

I had an HP unit before this one and was never happy with it. This unit has been a great solid choice. The fax works very well. Love the ink save feature as well as the sleep mode. No need to turn it off at all and save all that ink! My only complaint would be that sometimes it is slow to print from my computer, but that could be I am working in XP still. Eventually it does print and does it well. Overall I am very happy with this machine.

Great all in one Machine

The 4510 is a great size, great look and lives up to its specs. Just like all the brother units I've purshased it is simple to setup and the software is user friendly and straightforward. I've had other companies (Konica, HP) with ridiculous software and setup issues.
I would recommend this machine and any brother unit to anyone
