Why did I wait this long

Unbelievable. A printer that prints, as I ask, when I ask and faster than I ask. Cartridges that last AND that I can load without a 7 page cartridge loading potential problems manual.
My Harry Potter printer was so bad, that i brought it to a nice computer store here and gave it to them, including new cartridges. Harry Potter thinks its considered 'working' if you only need 7 additional pages to get you through doing a cartridge change. HarryP was The most user UNFRIENDLY simple machine in my dwelling.
THANK YOU BROTHER for making a simple task Simple again. Why did it take me so long to get off of HP & on to Simple & Workable.

Prints, scans, and faxes very well. Compact size is a plus. Wish I got the J4710DW that does 2 sided printing and scanning.

Slow and undependable

While I was excited to see a printer that can compete with HP consumer printers. This printer either doesn't sustain internet connections are the connectivity to the print server has issues, I had to connect a low cost HP printer to my Mac in order to get my printing done. Very dissapointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Never could get fax set up.
Scanning worked fine for several months then stopped

Qualilty a concern

Bought new unit and nearly a year later it just quit--wouldn't wake up as if some electrical short. I was still using the starter ink cartridges so it's not like I had used it that much. The had to send 2 refurbished units as the 1st replacement would never accept the ink cartridges (replaced several sets). So after buying a new unit, I now have someone else's reject and am waiting on the next thing to quit working on it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very impressed with my printer. I switched from a Cannon photo printer and the Brother prints better and faster. It is also quite and takes less space on my desk. The user interface is simple to learn and easy. I have done more with this printer than I ever done with my Cannon. I also love the card reader and USB slot. All the whistles and bells at a great price. Now I just hope it last. So far so good!
