I like the style haven't used it enough yet to be sure. One thing that surprised me is that it seems noisy and a bit clunky when printing.

Windows RT

Awesome printer. I've tested it and have only one complaint: It does not work with Windows RT. I really hope that a decision to suppor WinRT occurs quickly because I'd like to buy 30 of these for our staff who work out of their homes.

FINE PRINTER, BUT NOISY. I HAVE PRINTER ABOUT 500 PAGES SO FAR. 1 JAM THAT WAS DIFFICULT TO REMOVE. OVERALL MUCH BETTER THAN THE EXPENSIVE PRINTER IT REPLACED.

Worst printer ever

This is the worst printer I have ever owned (I couldn't give it less than one star, but I wanted to). I have owned it for about a year and it has never really worked properly. The paper feed in the back (for card stock and photo paper) doesn't work at all. We bought the printer for its wireless capability and it loses connection with the network every month or so. The latest time it lost the connection, I reloaded all of the drivers and now my computer won't connect with it at all (despite the fact that the printer itself claims it is connected with the network). This is the worst experience I have ever had with a printer and I will be going back to my trusty HP. The only thing I like about this printer is that the color cartridges are individual so that you only have to change the color that is out instead of wasting ink to change a whole case when it is only the yellow has run out (for example).

Superb printer

I needed a home printer that would do three things--print on 11x17 paper, print double-sided, and support WiFi. I got all of that plus more. One unexpected benefit was the built-in provision for turning an 8.5x11 scan into four pages which yields a 17x22 copy. There are even faint lines to guide you in taping the four sections together. The footprint is relatively small because the paper sits in the tray sideways. It cannot scan an 11x17 page, but I will not downrate it for that because I knew it when I bought it. Paper or envelopes must be fed one page at a time if you are using the manual slot and there is no good support for the paper, but a simple stand I constructed fixed that. Brother needs to have a built-in paper support for that manual slot. I have set it up for WiFi so that the notebook PCs, tablets, and smartphones in the house have a place to print to. Double-sided printing works well and the register is accurate. I print three-up cards on an 8.5x11 sheet quite often and any misalignment between front and back would be noticed.

Who Knew?

For a long time I resisted getting an all-in-one fax/scanner/printer in the misguided belief that separate devices would be optimized for their tasks and somehow superior. Well, I was wrong. Who knew what I was missing? This is a great printer, a great scanner, and a great fax. As a printer it is much faster than any other printer I have owned, including my laser printer, and the print quality is excellent. The double sided printing works without a hitch. The scanner works perfectly either as a flatbed or with the document feeder, and the fax does everything you could want. The software that comes with it is great plus it integrated with my Windows 8.1 programs without a hitch. The wireless connection works as well as wired connections, never a dropped job. My only criticisms are: (1) the single-sheet feeder is on the back of the printer and difficult to reach if the back is close to the wall and since I print quite a few labels that is inconvenient; (2) the paper feeder is noisier than other printers I have owned. On the whole the best printer I have owned, an excellent fax, and by far the most useful scanner I have owned.
