Does not handle 'other' paper well

I have had this printer for a little over a year now and it is a decent scanner and copier. If I want to print using plain, white, general copy paper from the paper tray ONLY - it usually does the job.
However, I have had nothing but problems with the rear feeding tray and the ADF. The rear feeding tray only works about 25% of the time and even at that it often prints slightly crooked. The other 75% of the time it takes the paper half way in and jams.
The ADF on top always says "ADF Ready" like it's supposed to when you put the paper in correctly, but it has NEVER worked.
My biggest disappointment though is that I need to print award certificates and mailing labels a lot for my non-profit and no matter which paper feeding method I try, it jams and ruins about half of my nice paper and labels. This is the first printer I have ever owned that has COST me money. It's the first Brother I've ever bought, so maybe it's just the odd lemon, but I'm not going to buy another to find out.

Constant Error Message

I am ready to through this printer threw the window. It constantly reports a paper jam when there isn't one. It will print one page and then report a jam which going through its steps doesn't clear the error message. I have to unplug the printer every time to get it to reset.
I have several Brother Laser printers and love them; however, every Brother Inkjet printer I have had it terrible!

I absolutely love this Brother all in one machine. I can't believe ho long my ink last. This is the best machine I have ever owned. The last all-in-one machine I owed was a Kodak.....what a piece of junk that was. Thankk You Brother for saving me from Kodak.

Disappointed

The wireless connection option stopped working and could not be reconnected after one week. Now the corded connection is having problems, too. The print option is extremely slow, and noisy even on quiet mode. Suggest you pass on this Brother product.

I gave this printer a five star rating because it does exactly what it's supposed to do. The print speed is a little slow for big jobs but that isn't what I purchased this printer to do and I have a second larger, faster and more expensive printer (different brand) that I use as my primary printer. However when I want the better print quality or I'm doing presentation reports in color I use the Brother because even though it is the less expensive printer the quality is superior. The Brother printers that I've owned in the past have always been superior printers and this one doesn't appear to be any different.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Don't buy this machine

Just a couple of the problems; first don't you dare try to print double sided. It will jam your printer; if not every page, at best every other page. The WiFi printing doesn't work on all of my devices either. Overall not satisfied with this machine and I have owned Brother machines for 12 years. Don't buy this machine! Buy another Brother that actually works.

GREAT Printer!

This is a great printer as far as I am concerned. I use it to print and copy onto letter size paper. I also use it to scan documents. I use the duplex feature to print multiple page documents so I save paper. I also use the automatic feed feature when I have multiple pages to copy or scan.
In the past 6 months, I have only had one paper jam and that was when I let the paper supply get down to the last two pages of paper.
The printer's footprint is a little bit larger than some other printers, but it is very reasonable when I consider all the features that this printer has over those smaller units. I really like this printer.
I would recommend this to a friend!
