Not what I thought it would be

If you are looking for a quiet machine when it transfers the paper, this is not it. The top for the scanning part is rather flimsy. As far as what the prints look like they are fine. The scanner works fine also. I have not faxed with it yet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Still New to Me

Just purchased a few weeks ago. I like the size and compactness of this model. Very attractive. Still learning the product and features. Seems to do basic functions that I want. Still haven't tried the picture scanning feature. Wife wants to scan old pictures and digitize them and get rid of paper copies. Main dislike so far is this machine is noisy! When starting up you hear rather loud paper moving noises "flop flop". Very annoying. Could be a deal breaker for some folks. I'm going to give this a "provisional" recommendation until I have used it for a little longer.

Great Printer

Installation was a snap. I installed the software that came with the printer on my Windows 7 machine and I downloaded the software for my Windows 8 machine and did not have any issues with either. The Brother app for Iphones works great. We purchased a HP printer and returned it for the Brother and we were very pleased. I would defiantly recommend it.

Great Printer

Best all in printer I have had. I have used other brand's and got rid of them after short use.
This printer is fast and good for everyday use. I use a higher end inkjet printer for photos, which uses very expensive pigment inks, so I had a need for an additional printer with economical inks and scan copy. Wireless operation is also very good. Very easy set-up. I will not use the fax option, who sends fax's these days ! My wife has a Brother laser printer, which has worked vey well

Not as bad as people think...

Yes, it does make a bunch of noise when you start printing. But the noise does not last more than a few seconds. I will say that the overall build of the printer is well made but some of the pieces feel cheap. The reason I picked this printer is for the use of 11 x 17 paper. I could not find a better price point printer than this. This printer is not for everyone. If you don't need to print 11 x 17, there are way better printers for this price.

great little printer

I love the touchscreen. Am still learning all the features. It prints fast and the color is true. I love the duplex printing. The only thing so far that I haven't liked is the clicking sound it makes as it first begins to print -- I thought at first something was wrong, but it seems to be the way it operates.
