Best Phone Mount ever

As a truck driver and someone who spends a lot of my time between my semi and pickup. This is hands down the best phone mount I’ve ever used. Allows for MagSafe charging with having something on the back of your phone besides a case. Bought 2, one for each of my vehicles. Have a customer for a very long time!

Fantastic Charger, Insecure Mount

I've had the car mount for about a year now, and I have a few good things to say and some bad. I'm a Peak Design lifer and have owned multiple products for years, including the Everyday Bag, a few slings, clips, and the phone case. The phone case is one of the reasons I converted to this wireless charger and mount, like many others.
My experience with the first mount was that it cracked while I was installing it. Peak Design's customer service was fantastic, and they shipped me a new one right away. The mount worked well, and I waited 24 hours after installing it, as PD recommends.
One thing I've noticed is that the charger heats up significantly. Initially, I thought this was due to the summer heat, especially because I mounted mine on the top of my dashboard. However, I'm seeing it happen in autumn as well. So far, I don't believe this has caused any issues with the phone itself, but I do wonder if the internals of the charger will eventually burn out due to the excessive heat. I have yet to determine if the charger actually overheats and stops working because occasionally I am not getting any charge. In such cases, I switch from the wireless charger to plugging in the phone directly with the cable.
The other issue is related to the mount itself. It doesn't give me much confidence anymore because the adhesive is coming loose. This problem is more pronounced in the summer months, likely due to the heat causing the adhesive to weaken. I've used 3M VHB tape before, and this is the only time I've had a problem with it, so I think it might relate more to the particular surface I mounted it on. It's not a completely flat surface like most car dashboards. Unfortunately, I didn't have many options for where to mount mine.
I'm still quite pleased with its functionality, slim profile design, and ease of use. The problem is that it's starting to fail at its core purpose, which is securely mounting the phone. Because I love it so much, I'm tempted to try screwing this thing permanently into the dash.
I've read other reviewers here stating that the mount often comes loose or doesn't stay in place. I'm wondering if Peak Design will come up with a more secure mounting solution. I'm not a fan of the suction or vent mount options, so for now, I'll try replacing the VHB tape. I'll also spend some time scrolling through here to see what other people have done.
In summary, I love the mount, especially in combination with the phone case (likely going to do a review on that too). I just need a better mounting solution, which is why I'm giving it 4/5.

Perfect Car Mount

I bought this about a month ago and it's my favorite car mount to date. What drew me to it was the small build as I didn't want something too bulky on my dash. It sticks well on any surface and holds my phone even when I drive over crazy potholes.

Solid, Dependable and No Worries

I bought this the way I've bought several other Peak Design products, through the Kickstarter. (going all the way back to the first one, the Camera Clip). I've looked for good mobile products and just never found one I liked. As soon as I saw PD entering the area, I knew this would be what I needed. This mount is perfect for my uses. I have it attached to a ledge on the center console of my Kia Carnaval. It is perfectly placed, and as soon as I'm in the car, there goes my phone. The true test of something like this is that I never have to think about it, it just works. I only ever really think about it when I get into another car that doesn't have one. I miss it. Since the original only came with a USB C-C cord, and my Kia only has USB-A charger slots, I did get a very short A-C cord, but it's all good. Even in the heat of the North Carolina summer, in a black car, the adhesive has never shown any sign of loosening. It remains solid as a rock. The swivel is easy to adjust and stays where you want it. Overall, just exactly what you want. I like this so much that I purchased one of the vent mounts to take with me this summer as I travel and use rental cars. I just don't want to be without my Peak Design car mount!

Great charger... if it would stick to the dash.

5 star charger, zero star adhesive. The charger is decently fast and the magnet is super strong so my Pixel 8 Pro never moves, even on some seriously bumpy off road trails. The issue is that the adhesive on the mount and the cable management things is awful. It was worse than useless and wouldn't even hold the charger onto a flat part of my dashboard, let alone a phone as well. I scraped it off and got some double sided mounting tape to attach it instead which works okay but isn't ideal. I got the Qi 1 charger and have had it for 6 months to a year now. Hopefully the adhesive has been changed for something better on the Qi2 one because I would rather have had no adhesive instead of whatever was used before. I am not kidding when I say this adhesive was useless, one inch painters/masking tape has more holding power...

The best car mount

I bought this to replace a cheap ball head type mount that I was using. This Peak Design mount is SO much more stable. It holds my Samsung S24 Plus tight, not wobbly at all. Very impressed by how well it adheres to the dash as well.
