Magnet isn't strong enough for a stick shift

I am beyond obsessed with my Peak Design case and have the mounts for both of my motorcycles and my bicycle, and was super excited to add the car mount to the stable. It's very minimal and sleek, which is great because so many of them are hideous monstrosities. Unfortunately though, the magnet just isn't strong enough, and my phone gets knocked off it pretty regularly. I have a 6-speed manual M6, and the console/dash space means there wasn't a great place to mount it that is well out of the way of the stick. Inevitably the phone gets bumped when shifting and that's usually enough to disengage it from the mount and have the phone end up at my feet. I'm sure if you don't have a stick shift you would have more places to mount it as well as less likelihood of bumping it while driving and it would be awesome for you. Can't say enough good things about the case and the bike & motorcycle mounts that lock into the phone case, and the sleekness of this design is so good. Just needs a locking option!

Good quality but limited usability and movement

The positive: very nice magnetic mount - feels safe, fast and strong
The negative: the short length of the arm between the ball and the dash plate severely limits the placement: it only works if you have an almost vertical space where you can attach the mount to the dash. If you car dash is tilted (or even almost horizontal, like in my case) then the phone will be facing the roof of the car, not you.
There is also the limitation of the available place to connect this mount; both because car designers have not left spaces for this and because the phone will most likely cover another instrument, screen or something if you do find a place to stick the mount.
So carefully check your car before selecting this model.

Since I appreciate the Peak Design mount system, I decided to return this car mount and purchase the ball mount. This allows me to add a longer arm between the dash mount and the phone, thus increasing flexibility in finding an available place to stick it to. The positive: a much more flexible solution. The negative: relevantly increasing the price of the overall car mounting solution by having to purchase the other needed parts from RAM mounts.

Curved application base is a godsend

There is no good place to put an iPhone charger in a 2014 Ford fusion for except to the left of the steering wheel above the vent that is a very curved surface. This has worked flawlessly for almost a year now.

Great mount

Received this as a gift and so far am loving it. It looks great even in my more-than-decade-old Kia Forte, and is clearly well-made and thoughtfully designed even down to high-quality adhesives.

My new favorite thing!

I drive an older Subaru and have had trouble finding a phone mount that would stay put, be visible, but still stay out of my way when driving. Well I didn't know I also needed a magnetic mount that also charged my phone, but that feature has been life-changing! I no longer need to fumble to plug in my phone every time I get in and out of the car - I just slap it onto the plate and it immediately connects and begins charging. I grab it off the magnet when I hop out, no plugging or unplugging. The cord stays unobtrusively to the side due to the included cord clips. I think it may be my favorite new purchase this year.

Excellent car mount/charger!!

I wanted a charging mount for my 2022 Honda CR-V. This filled the bill! It was before the vent mount came out or I would have chosen that one. This works really well!! Never falls off, always charges. I couldn't find a spot to stick it so I went with a ProClip mounting surface that clips into my car's dash without tools or adhesives. Blocks the vent slightly but I don't care.
